23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time

1. God desires us to speak kindly and honestly when someone hurts us, rather than holding on to anger and resentment.
2. God desires us to resolve disagreements peacefully and to work toward reconciliation.
3. Forgiveness does not mean accepting injustice, pretending that nothing happened, or allowing someone to continue hurting us.
4. We can forgive while still seeking truth, justice, and accountability.
5. God calls us to support one another and to face difficulties together as a caring and compassionate community.

Happy National Teachers’ Month! ❤️

Teaching is more than imparting knowledge, it is an opportunity to shape hearts, inspire purpose, and lead young lives toward what truly matters.

May we, as teachers, not only teach our students how to succeed in life, but also point them to Jesus Christ, the source of truth, hope, and everlasting life.

A BLESSED SEASON OF CREATION!

The theme for this year’s Season of Creation is Living Water, inspired by Ezekiel 47: 9 and 12: “Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live. [...] Fruit trees of all kinds will grow on both banks of the river. Their leaves will not wither, nor will their fruit fail. Every month they will bear fruit, because the water from the sanctuary flows to them. Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.”

To make this Season of Creation meaningful, let us contemplate the water flowing from the sanctuary in Ezekiel’s vision and see the sanctuary as the Womb of God, the Source of all life, and from this Womb all the water in the Universe come from.

The prophet’s vision reminds us that water is living and water is life. His vision tells of the overflowing grace of living water – abundance of life!

Let us daily contemplate, with gratitude, this Season of Creation the gifts that we are receiving from the living waters on Earth – the Oceans and the Rivers.

Let us daily contemplate the living water flowing from our tap. Every drop of water on Earth is living and comes from the Divine and is therefore sacred. May this consciousness awaken in each one of us a reverence to every drop of water that comes from our tap and from that reverence see how precious every drop of water is. May our celebration of this Season of Creation deepen our consciousness that water is not just a physical resource to be used by us as we see fit and worse to be indiscriminately wasted.

Lastly, let us daily contemplate our body that is, more or less, 75% water. We are also living water!

May these contemplative practices during this Season of Creation bring us to a more radical commitment to care for the living water in us and around us.

May the living water that we are overflow with grace for the wellbeing and life of Earth and the entire Earth-Community.

One with all of you,

Man-made climate change demands human accountability. 🌏

Across Asia, the climate crisis is no longer something we can afford to see as distant or inevitable.

🇮🇩 In Indonesia, wildfires continue to scar landscapes and expose communities to dangerous smoke. 🇳🇵 In Nepal, flash floods are drowning communities. 🇵🇭 In the Philippines, typhoons are growing more destructive. 🇲🇾 In Malaysia, haze and polluted air threaten the health of millions.

Yet these same places also remind us of what is at stake: forests, coastlines, communities, and ecosystems that sustain life and health. 🌿

These disasters may look natural. But the climate crisis driving their increasing frequency and intensity is not.

We know what is causing the crisis. We know who bears the greatest burden. And we know that action is possible.

Those who contribute most to the climate crisis must take greater responsibility. Governments, industries, and institutions must act to protect human and environmental health.

Because climate action is not only about reducing emissions. It is about accountability. It is about justice. And it is about protecting the right to a healthy future. ✊🏽
