[COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT]

On March 3, 2026, the 𝗖𝗮𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 conducted a 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗻 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 at Eugenio Cabezas National High School in Trece Martires City, Cavite.

The activity brought together DAS experts to equip participants with science-based knowledge and practical skills to improve native chicken farming.

𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘁. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗹 𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗲 𝗗. 𝗢𝗯𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗼 opened the session with a discussion on the Overview of Native Chicken. He also highlighted essential strategies on Health Management and Disease Prevention, emphasizing proper biosecurity measures and preventive care to ensure the health and productivity of birds.

𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗟. 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗿𝗶𝘇 provided a presentation on Breeds and Strain Selection, guiding participants on choosing the most suitable native chicken strains for their production goals and environmental conditions.

𝗠𝗿. 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗠. 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗼 shared practical insights on Housing and Management, presenting housing designs and management practices to improve animal welfare and enhance production efficiency.

𝗔𝘀𝘀𝘁. 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗠𝗮. 𝗖𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗕. 𝗔𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗱𝗮 concluded the seminar with a discussion on Feeding and Nutrition Management, highlighting nutrient requirements, feed formulation, and economical feeding strategies to support optimal growth and performance.

The seminar demonstrated CvSU’s commitment to community empowerment through accessible science-based training, helping farmers and enthusiasts advance their native chicken production practices.
