My neighbor put up this fence yesterday, and something felt off...
So I measured it this morning—it was about 7 inches inside my property.
When I brought it up, he actually said:
“7 inches is basically nothing, it’s no big deal.”
Now I’m stuck here wondering...
Am I being petty for caring about a few inches,
or is this something that will turn into a bigger problem later?

Our neighborhood playground got a huge upgrade a few weeks ago. Every time I pass by, though, I'm struck by how strange these very tall holey structures are. No child could ever conceivably play on them safely. So, what are they? Giant paddles for 50ft children to bounce balls on? Where do I find these 50 ft children? The only thing I can think of is that they might cast some interesting shadows, so maybe it's an artistic thing? Help?" via reddit

So I came home last week and there’s this giant concrete leaf just... sitting on the porch. Like not a little cute leaf. This thing is massive, looks like it came from some garden museum or a fairy forest. I stared at it for a good five minutes thinking maybe the neighbors were doing some weird yard art exchange and left it by mistake.
Then my husband walks out and just goes, “Do you like it?”
Turns out, the man found a broken birdbath and some random slabs of cement behind a dumpster near his job site (he’s a contractor). Instead of tossing it like most people would, he brought it home in the back of his truck like it was buried treasure. Said he remembered I had saved a post from Tedooo app about mosaic garden décor (which I totally did) and figured he could try making one instead of buying.
He literally watched tutorials, asked questions in a Tedooo group (!!!), and even ordered those little glass bits and tools from one of the sellers there. All while I thought he was just binge-watching football after work.
And then he says, “You always say you miss the garden in winter. So I made you something green.”
Y’all... I melted.
It’s going right next to my hydrangeas this spring. And yes, I’ve already bragged about him in my own Tedooo store, because if my man can turn literal trash into this masterpiece, you bet I’m showing that off.

We had friends coming over Saturday and our backyard was a mess. Fire pit was done but we had zero seating - the outdoor furniture delivery got pushed back another two weeks. I kept imagining everyone standing around like idiots or sitting on concrete blocks.
My husband goes "they won't care, it's casual" which made me want to scream. I said we look like we live in a construction zone and stormed out. Ended up at mom's house that night, too stubborn to come home.
Next morning I'm driving back, still mad, and I hear power tools in the backyard. Walk around the corner and there he is, covered in sawdust, putting together these benches.
"I'll be right back, going to grab some supplies," he'd apparently told the dog at 6am. Came back with concrete blocks and cedar planks instead of the "quick trip to Starbucks" I was expecting.
He grins at me all sheepish and says, "Just wait and see. Found this design from some crafter on the Tedooo app who makes outdoor furniture." Few hours later we had actual seating that looked intentional, not like leftover construction materials.
Our friends loved them so much they started asking if we sell them. Now we make custom bench sets and sell them through our own Tedooo app shop - turns out people love the industrial look.
Still can't believe he pulled that off while I was pouting at mom's house.

To the neighbor who thought it was a great idea to scoop up my dog’s p**p from your yard and drop it on my doorstep like some kind of self-appointed enforcer—congratulations. That might be one of the dumbest decisions I’ve seen in a while.
Waking up to a pile sitting on my welcome mat like it was meant to “send a message” was definitely something. But before you pat yourself on the back too hard, just know the camera on my porch caught the entire thing.
Let’s clear something up. Dogs go to the bathroom outside. That’s how it works. They walk, they stop, they do their business, and they move on. I’m not trailing behind mine like a hazmat crew every second he steps on grass. If a small patch of your lawn has you this worked up, that sounds like a personal issue.
What’s really baffling is the effort you put in. Instead of just moving on like a normal person, you picked it up, carried it over here, and carefully placed it on my doorstep like it was some grand statement. That’s not normal—that’s what someone does when they’re looking for a problem to create.
So thanks for the footage. And just so we’re clear—if you step onto my property again to leave another one of your little “messages,” you can go ahead and explain that decision to the police instead.
What did I just find in my garden?

Now I have a thorough understanding of the tone and style. Let me write the story based on the image of the elaborate wooden dollhouse, focused on the relationships between mother, father, and daughter — very strong and emotional.
My dad built this when I was six. Not for any holiday, not because he had extra time. He built it because I once mentioned in passing that my dolls needed a "real home." That was all it took. Three months of him disappearing into the garage every night after work, sawdust in his hair at dinner, my mom quietly refilling his coffee without saying a word. She knew. She always knew when he was building something out of love.
Every tiny window has real glass. Every stair actually creaks. I used to press my face against those little balcony rails and imagine I was the size of my dolls, looking out over a whole tiny world. I didn't understand then what it took to make something like that. I was six. I just thought dads did things like this.
He died when I was thirty-one. Heart attack, completely out of nowhere. The kind that doesn't give you a warning or a goodbye. My mom called me and she couldn't even finish the sentence. I still have the voicemail saved somewhere. I can't listen to it, but I can't delete it either.
We found the dollhouse in their attic during the cleanout. I completely fell apart. Mom sat beside me on the dusty floor for a long time, not saying anything. Then she said, "he was so proud of this. He used to go up here just to look at it."
I had no idea.
I took it home and it's been on a shelf in my living room ever since. Last winter, I found a craftsman on the Tedooo app who restores antique wooden pieces, and he helped me fix the hinges that had warped over the years. He asked about the history and I ended up telling him everything. He barely charged me. Said some pieces shouldn't be priced the way you price regular work.
My daughter is four now. Yesterday she asked me who made the little house. I told her "your grandfather built it for me when I was your age, because he loved me more than he knew how to say." She nodded very seriously and said "can I put my bunny inside?" My mom happened to call right at that moment, and when I told her, she went quiet in that way that means she's crying but doesn't want me to know. Love really does travel through the things we make. I believe that completely now.

My Lithops bloomed right before my eyes!! It was such a unique thing to watch! 😍 I saw the bud on Sunday evening + by Wednesday afternoon it bloomed. I noticed that the flower closes at night + opens back up in the day.

I found this beautiful vintage dresser with mirror at a garage sale last weekend… it had to come home with me 🥹❤️Should I paint it or keep it as is ?
