Preparedness is more than knowing what to do, it is about practicing until we are ready to respond.

On September 10, 2026, at 2:00 PM, CAM CERT participated in the 2026 Third Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) at Southern Luzon State University.

Together with 𝐃𝐑𝐑𝐌 and other 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐬, responders took part in the drill, helping promote proper earthquake safety procedures, evacuation, and emergency preparedness throughout the university community.

Through drills and simulations, we are reminded of how important awareness, coordination, communication, and preparedness are during emergencies. These activities provide an opportunity for everyone to familiarize themselves with proper safety measures and understand how to respond during an earthquake.

Guided by our motto, “𝑺𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒔 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑺𝒂𝒗𝒆. 𝑲𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒍𝒆𝒅𝒈𝒆 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑮𝒖𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒔. 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑻𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒔,” CAM CERT continues to support a culture of preparedness and service within the university and the community.

Because preparedness begins with practice, and every simulation is a chance to be more ready when it matters most. 🚨

The Southern Luzon State University officially opened 𝑺𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑻𝒆𝒄𝒉𝒏𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚 𝑾𝒆𝒆𝒌 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 bringing Yuyans together in a celebration of science, technology, and digital innovation.

This year’s celebration highlights the theme:

Amidst this celebration, the 𝑪𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒈𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑨𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒅 𝑴𝒆𝒅𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒆 (𝑪𝑨𝑴 𝑪𝑬𝑹𝑻) proudly stood ready to serve and respond during the opening ceremony. Our volunteers were on standby to help ensure the safety and well-being of students, faculty, guests, and participants throughout the event.

Through emergency preparedness, prompt first aid, and dedicated assistance, our CERT volunteers put into action 𝑺𝒌𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑺𝒂𝒗𝒆, 𝑲𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒍𝒆𝒅𝒈𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑮𝒖𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒔, 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑯𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒔.❤️‍🩹

𝗗𝗘𝗡𝗚𝗨𝗘 𝗔𝗪𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 | 𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗟𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗢, 𝗠𝗔𝗚𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗛𝗔𝗡𝗗𝗔

Ang dengue ay hindi dapat ipagsawalang bahala. Isang kagat lamang ng infected na lamok na Aedes ay maaaring maging simula ng isang sakit na nangangailangan ng maagap na pagkilos at tamang pangangalaga.

𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚 𝐦𝐠𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐮𝐞 tulad ng mataas na lagnat, pananakit ng katawan, pamamantal, pagduduwal at pagsusuka. Higit sa lahat, huwag balewalain ang mga 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐬 gaya ng pagdurugo ng ilong o gilagid, dugo sa dumi, matinding pananakit ng tiyan, hirap sa paghinga, at labis na panghihina. Ang mga ito ay maaaring senyales ng malubhang dengue na nangangailangan ng agarang atensyong medikal.

Bilang isang komunidad, hindi lamang sapat ang pag-alam sa mga sintomas. Kailangan din nating kumilos upang maiwasan ang pagdami ng lamok at pagkalat ng dengue. 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐤𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐧, 𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐠𝐚 𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐦𝐮𝐦𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧 𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐤, 𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐩𝐚𝐤𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚 𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐝 𝐤𝐮𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐦𝐠𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐚.

Sa pamamagitan ng 4S Kontra Dengue, Search and Destroy, Seek Early Consultation, Self Protection, at Support Fogging or Spraying, may magagawa ang bawat isa upang makatulong sa pagpigil sa dengue.

The month of August may have officially come to a close, but the spirit of our milestone refuses to fade. We are stretching out the festivities because a legacy this meaningful deserves more than just a month. So here is a tribute to the years that shaped us...

Before CAM-CERT became the organization we know today, there was only a vision—to build a team of students who would be ready to respond, willing to make a difference, and committed to serve.

Behind every milestone are people who took the first steps, faced uncertainty, carried responsibility, made difficult decisions, and chose to keep showing up.

As we celebrate our 𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐲, we look back through the voices of those who once stood at the forefront of CAM-CERT—our former leaders whose journeys helped shape the organization we continue to build today.

𝑻𝑯𝑬 𝑩𝑬𝑮𝑰𝑵𝑵𝑰𝑵𝑮𝑺 | 𝑴𝑹. 𝑨𝑳𝑬𝑿𝑨𝑵𝑫𝑹𝑬𝑰 𝑪𝑶𝑶𝑲

At the heart of CAM-CERT’s story is Mr. Alexandrei Cook, its founder.

During the height of the pandemic, when recruiting members was far from easy, he and his team took the first steps toward establishing a Student CERT in CAM. What began during a time of uncertainty eventually became a growing culture of service that reached beyond the college and inspired the formation of Student CERTs across SLSU.

Looking back at how far the organization has come, he shared:

For Ms. Florence Seño, leadership was not simply about holding a position. It was about learning when to be firm, when to listen, and when to put the welfare of the entire team above personal sake.

For Ms. Moren Comia, CAM-CERT became more than an organization—it became a place where she found purpose, belonging, and a deeper appreciation for service.

“I joined CERT because I wanted to learn first aid. But I stayed because I found a family, a purpose, and a community that made my college life more meaningful.”

Her time as a leader taught her that leadership is not always about standing in front. Sometimes, leadership simply means being present, giving your time, and continuing to show up—even when it is difficult.

Because organizations do not remain alive because of a name or a logo.

They remain alive because people continue to believe in what they stand for.

For Ms. Simoune Dagandara, her CAM-CERT began from being a member, to serving as a President, each step became part of her growth—not only as a leader, but also as a person.

Through the organization, she developed her communication, responsibility and confidence in making decisions

These leaders may have served in different chapters of CAM-CERT's history, but their experiences share one common thread:

Today, a new generation carries the name CAM-CERT. The faces may be different, the challenges may change, and new chapters may unfold—but the foundation laid by those who came before remains.

To our former presidents and leaders, thank you for leading when the path was still being built. Above all, thank you for the legacy you left behind.

And to the present and future generations of CAM-CERT:

May you lead with purpose, serve with compassion, and continue what they started.

On September 12, 2026, the College of Allied Medicine – Campus Emergency Response Team (CAM-CERT) actively participated in the SLSU Peer Facilitators' training held at the CAM Learning Center.

Aimed at equipping students with essential helping skills—including 𝘢𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘱𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘱𝘴𝘺𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘧𝘪𝘳𝘴𝘵 𝘢𝘪𝘥—the training course focused on four (4) modules that highlighted the 𝗻𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲𝘀, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗱𝘂𝗮𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀.

From classrooms and campus hallways to our wider local communities, CAM - CERT remains committed to fostering a culture of safety, rapid response, and unwavering support. 🛡️ BEFORE AN EARTHQUAKE (Bago Lumindol)

𝙵𝚒𝚡 & 𝚂𝚎𝚌𝚞𝚛𝚎: Repair damaged house structures and secure heavy overhead hanging objects.

𝚂𝚝𝚘𝚛𝚎 𝚂𝚊𝚏𝚎𝚕𝚢: Properly organize hazardous chemicals and flammable substances to prevent fires.

𝙿𝚛𝚎𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝙶𝙾-𝙱𝙰𝙶: Ensure it contains at least 3 days' worth of family essentials.

𝙸𝚍𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚏𝚢 𝙴𝚜𝚜𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚊𝚕𝚜: Know where the nearest Fire Extinguishers, First Aid Kits, Exit Routes, and Evacuation Plans are located.

𝙿𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚒𝚌𝚒𝚙𝚊𝚝𝚎: Join drills and educational safety trainings.

🛑 DURING AN EARTHQUAKE (Habang Lumindol)

𝙸𝚗𝚍𝚘𝚘𝚛𝚜: Practice 🦆 DUCK, COVER, AND HOLD!

Drop to your hands and knees, take cover under a sturdy table, and hold on tight.

If using a wheelchair, REMEMBER: Lock, Cover, and Hold On!

𝙾𝚞𝚝𝚍𝚘𝚘𝚛𝚜: Move to a clear, open space away from buildings, trees, and power lines.

𝚂𝚝𝚊𝚢 𝙲𝚕𝚎𝚊𝚛: Keep away from glass windows, cabinets, and heavy falling objects.

𝙸𝚗 𝚊 𝚅𝚎𝚑𝚒𝚌𝚕𝚎: Safely pull over to an open area and wait until the shaking stops.

🏃 AFTER AN EARTHQUAKE (Pagkatapos Lumindol)

𝙴𝚟𝚊𝚌𝚞𝚊𝚝𝚎 𝚂𝚊𝚏𝚎𝚕𝚢: Leave the building calmly using stairs—NEVER use elevators.

𝙳𝚘 𝙽𝚘𝚝 𝙿𝚊𝚗𝚒𝚌: Proceed directly to the designated assembly/evacuation area.

𝚂𝚝𝚊𝚢 𝙰𝚠𝚊𝚢: Do not re-enter damaged buildings or approach downed power lines until authorities declare it safe.

The College of Allied Medicine – Campus Emergency Response Team (CAM - CERT) proudly partook and extended its service during the "𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺, 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗿, 𝗜𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗸𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝗦𝗮 𝗔𝗹𝘁𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘆𝗼𝗻 (𝗣𝗣𝗦𝗔), 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗘𝘆𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆" held in Southern Luzon State University (SLSU) on September 7, 2026.

This vital initiative—organized in response to the Department of Health - Center Health Development CALABARZON's campaign against Lifestyle-Related Diseases (LRDs)— 𝘢𝘪𝘮𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘩𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘵𝘩 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘰𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘱𝘰𝘱𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴.

Alongside availing of the essential health screening services offered, CAM CERT members actively participated by obtaining vitals and computing body mass index (BMI) for the other participants.🩺

The organization would like to extend its gratitude to the 𝐃𝐎𝐇 – 𝐂𝐇𝐃 𝐂𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐁𝐀𝐑𝐙𝐎𝐍, 𝐒𝐋𝐒𝐔 𝐀𝐝𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, and the 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 (𝐔𝐇𝐒) Office for making this activity possible.
