UP PTP Holds Closing Ceremonies for its 36th Foundation Course

The UP Law Center Paralegal Training Program (PTP) formally concluded its 36th Foundation Course (PTP 36) last August 22, 2026, with a closing ceremony held at the Atencio-Libunao Hall, UP Diliman. The ceremony brought together 233 participants who completed the program’s training in legal fundamentals and practical paralegal skills.

The Managing Partner of SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan Law, Atty. Hector M. De Leon Jr., was the guest speaker for this occasion. He underscored the important role paralegals play in the work of a law firm, which includes the support they provide to lawyers and the work that enables legal services to be carried out effectively.

The ceremony served as both a recognition of the graduates’ commitment to their training and a reminder of the responsibility that comes with becoming a certificated paralegal of the UP Law Center.

Congratulations, PTP 36! May your training continue to guide you as you contribute to the work of the legal profession and the administration of justice.

Contracts 101: A Legal Writing Seminar, held on June 3-4, 2026, successfully concluded after two days of meaningful learning and discussions.

The seminar provided an opportunity to move beyond theory and engage with the realities of legal practice, from understanding the structure and purpose of contracts to analyzing legal issues and preparing contract outputs based on factual scenarios.

The UP Law Center Paralegal Training Program thanks everyone who took part in making this seminar a success. We hope that the knowledge and skills gained from this program will continue to support professional growth and contribute to making legal services more accessible and effective.

The UP Law Center Paralegal Training Program officially welcomed the 247 participants of the 36th Foundation Certificate Course (PTP 36) during its Course Introduction held last May 23, 2026.

Over the next few months, the participants will undergo intensive training on legal fundamentals and paralegal skills as part of the program, which will run until August 2026.

As PTP 36 begins its journey, we look forward to another batch of future paralegals committed to learning, service, and advancing access to justice. Welcome to the UP PTP, Batch 36!

UP Paralegal Training Program Certificated 218 Paralegals Under 35th Foundation Course

The Paralegal Training Program (PTP) of the University of the Philippines Law Center (UPLC) concluded its 35th Foundation Certificate Course (PTP 35) with a closing ceremony attended by graduates, faculty, and members of the legal community. A total of 218 trainees received certificates after completing a comprehensive program on legal fundamentals and practical skills.

In her Welcome Address, Atty. Elizabeth R. Pulumbarit, the Chairperson of the UP PTP Committee underscored the importance of grounding legal work in the values of dangal, husay, at serbisyo, reminding graduates that competence must always be guided by integrity and responsibility to the public.

The keynote address was delivered by Hon. Ysabel Maria J. Zamora, Congresswoman of San Juan City and alumna of the UP College of Law (Class of 2008), who emphasized empowering the next generation of paralegals and their role in making the law more accessible. She encouraged the graduates to use their knowledge in service of the public: “May your knowledge be a tool in making the law accessible for all… palaging para sa bayan.”

On behalf of the graduates, Mr. Melchor P. Dioso expressed gratitude for the training and affirmed their commitment to contribute meaningfully to the justice system, noting that the work of paralegals includes helping others understand and navigate the law.

The ceremony marked the transition of Batch 35 into certificated paralegals, equipped not only with knowledge but with a renewed sense of purpose in advancing access to justice.
