FRANCINE PADIOS CAPTURES LONE PENCAK SILAT GOLD IN VIETNAM

Hiraya Francine Padios delivered the Philippines' only gold medal at the 10th Asian Pencak Silat Championships in D**g Nai Province, Vietnam, winning the Female Tunggal event with a score of 9.950, narrowly defeating Malaysia's Nur Syafiqah Binti Hamzah (9.940).

Padios' victory highlighted Team Philippines' 11-medal haul, which included multiple silver and bronze medal finishes across various events.

Host Vietnam topped the overall standings with 16 gold medals, followed by Indonesia and Malaysia, while the Philippines finished fourth in the medal tally.
