Am I the Toxic One?

I search my heart where silent questions stay,
And trace the cracks that time has left behind.
Did I push love with fear along its way,
Or lose myself while trying to be kind?

Each word we spoke still echoes through my mind,
Each wound reminds me neither soul was whole.
I sought for peace, but storms were all we’d find;
Love’s weight grew heavy on a weary soul.

If I was wrong, I’ll bear that truth with grace,
And learn to mend the parts that brought you pain.
Yet love was never lost by one embrace,
Nor washed away by one relentless rain.

So if I’m toxic, let that lesson start;
Not to hate myself, but heal my heart.

A lasting relationship isn’t built on being happy all the time, constantly feeling in love, or always chasing the “kilig.”

The reality is, there will be days when both of you feel tired. There will be misunderstandings, moments of silence, and times when it seems easier to walk away than to stay. There may even be seasons when you question everything.

But that’s where real love shows itself.

Real love isn’t measured by how easy the relationship is. It’s measured by the choice to stay when things become difficult, to listen when emotions run high, and to understand each other even when it’s hard.

It’s choosing patience over pride.
Grace over anger.
Communication over silence.
Healing over giving up.

Relationships don’t last because the butterflies never fade. They last because two people keep choosing each other, even after the excitement settles into something deeper.

No one will ever be perfect. The beauty of love is not in finding a flawless person, but in choosing the same imperfect person over and over again while growing, learning, and becoming better together.

So if your relationship feels heavy right now, don’t be too quick to let it go. Not every difficult season means it’s the end. Sometimes, love isn’t about finding someone else—it’s about finding your way back to each other and choosing to begin again.

I hope life allows me to keep you for a long time—not only during the beautiful and effortless moments, but also through the ordinary days, the difficult seasons, and everything in between.

I hope I never have to imagine a future without you, because being with you has shown me what it truly feels like to belong somewhere.

I want to know every side of you—the one who dreams big, the one who worries too much, the one who gets frustrated, the one who grows stronger after every challenge. I want to stay through all the changes life brings, learning and loving each version of you along the way.

Not because I think love is always easy or perfect, but because I believe you are someone worth choosing, worth understanding, and worth staying for every single day.
