Gulmit: Havaldar Salamat Shah from Kamaris Gulmit is celebrating his remarkable 103rd birthday today marking an extraordinary milestone in a life spanning more than a century.

This Blue Van belongs to Mr Sakawat Shah &
Mr Aziz Khan. The Driver was Mr Aziz Khan from Gulmit Gojal.

Mr Aziz Khan was one of the pioneer of Transportation in Gojal Hunza.

Seeing this picture brings back old memories. At that time, there were only two vans in the entire area, and they played a vital role in transporting students, working professionals, and ordinary residents to their destinations. There were many instances where, if someone lacked the fare, the drivers would still take them to their destination. In this way, these vans not only facilitated local community but also played a crucial role in ensuring timely travel. This van belongs to Uncle Aziz Khan; back then, it was among the few vehicles that rendered significant service in making transportation easy and convenient for the people of our area. It would certainly be a great injustice to overlook such beautiful memories and the contributions of these individuals, or to fail to acknowledge their services.
