Building an AI/ML system isn’t always about getting it right on the first try.

Our Rice Classification project started with manual training, where we faced challenges with inconsistent lighting, camera processing, and unreliable results.

To overcome these issues, we built our own controlled cardboard setup, fixed the lighting, and introduced a dedicated camera. This helped us solve the consistency and camera-processing issues. but testing revealed a new challenge: image quality.

Blurry images were affecting our classification results, so we took the next step and moved to a printer-based setup.

With better lighting, improved image quality, and a more controlled environment, we’re now getting much more consistent and promising results.

But the work doesn’t stop here.

We’re still testing, improving, and refining the system to make the results even more accurate and reliable.
