📍𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒕 𝑳𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒊 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘 & 𝑪𝒐𝒐𝒓𝒅𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑴𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈

A productive progress review meeting was held at the BRSP Loralai Office under the European Union in Pakistan-funded Post-Floods Resilient Recovery and Strengthening of Livestock Sector in Balochistan Project. Led by 𝑫𝒓. 𝑨𝒃𝒅𝒖𝒍 𝑹𝒆𝒉𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝑲𝒉𝒂𝒏, 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝑷𝑷𝑨𝑭 𝑩𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏 the meeting brought together Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund and BRSP teams to review progress, discuss achievements and challenges, and plan the way forward for greater impact in flood-affected communities.

The visit also included a meeting with 𝑫𝒓. 𝑭𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒆𝒅, 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝑶𝒖𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒆, 𝑭𝑨𝑶 𝑳𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒊. 𝑴𝒓. 𝑮𝒉𝒖𝒍𝒂𝒎 𝑴𝒖𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒛𝒂, 𝑺𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒐𝒓 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒅𝒔 𝑩𝑹𝑺𝑷, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒓. 𝑨𝒔𝒎𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒍𝒍𝒂𝒉, 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒕 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝑩𝑹𝑺𝑷 𝑳𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒊 where PPAF and BRSP representatives discussed ongoing project activities and explored opportunities for collaboration and joint initiatives to strengthen livelihood recovery and community resilience in the district.

Dr. Althaf Abro, Head of Mission – Pakistan, and Mr. Shafiq Ahmed, Provincial Lead – Balochistan, from Secours Islamique France (SIF) recently met with the CEO Balochistan Rural Support Programme and discussed potential areas of collaboration for the socio-economic development of Balochistan.

The meeting focused on exploring joint initiatives in climate resilience, WASH, sustainable livelihoods, and community development. Both organizations expressed their commitment to strengthening partnerships to improve the well-being and resilience of vulnerable communities across the province.

A productive progress review meeting was held at the BRSP Pishin Office, chaired by 𝑫𝒓. 𝑨𝒃𝒅𝒖𝒍 𝑹𝒆𝒉𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝑲𝒉𝒂𝒏, 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝑷𝑷𝑨𝑭 𝑩𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏 and his team, along with 𝑴𝒓. 𝑴𝒖𝒓𝒕𝒂𝒛𝒂, 𝑺𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒐𝒓 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝑩𝑹𝑺𝑷 and his team.
The Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund and Balochistan Rural Support Programme District Pishin teams conducted a detailed coordination session to review program progress, discuss key achievements, address challenges, and plan future interventions under the European Union in Pakistan-funded 𝑷𝒐𝒔𝒕-𝑭𝒍𝒐𝒐𝒅𝒔 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑹𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 𝑳𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒄𝒌 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐𝒓 𝒊𝒏 𝑩𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒋𝒆𝒄𝒕.

Following the meeting, the team visited UC Kamalzai, where discussion were held with farmer groups to assess field-level progress, gather community feedback, and strengthen stakeholder engagement.
Together, we remain committed building resilience, and creating sustainable opportunities for livestock-dependent communities across Balochistan.

Today, COTHM Karachi Campus had the privilege of hosting Mr. Moladad Gul, Manager of Logistics, Transport & Security at Rural Support Programme.

The visit was led by our Director of Operations, Mr. Usaid Ahmed, and GM Marketing, Mr. Azhar Jamil.

It provided an excellent opportunity for meaningful discussions on logistics, operational management, and potential collaborations.

We are grateful for Mr. Gul’s visit and look forward to building stronger ties and sharing knowledge that will benefit both our faculty and students.

In commemoration of the World Environment Day 2026, Thardeep Rural Development Programme is organizing a special event titled “Thar at the Crossroads: Climate, Culture, and Survival” with the participation of Balochistan Rural Support Programme and other organizations.

The event will bring together environmentalists, development practitioners, researchers, and community leaders to discuss the pressing challenges posed by climate change, its impacts on vulnerable communities, and the importance of preserving the unique cultural and ecological heritage of Thar.

Let's reaffirm our collective commitment to building climate-resilient communities, protecting natural resources, and promoting sustainable development for a greener and more prosperous Pakistan.
