"In a few words"...

I looked at my queue in "In a few words" and I see, that I have a few debuts lined up here for the very end of the holidays. Good, good. It's very good that something is happening. Some bands disband, others start - it can see that the Metal scene is alive.
Polish STAINLESS STEEL released their debut album last month. Although they are active for almost 10 years (with a long, 6-year break), it seems that only recently has the band caught the wind in its sails. Last year, their first release, demo "Somewhere In Mind", and now "Paranoia", the first album in their still modest discography. I wrote "still modest", because despite some problems, it seems that STAINLESS STEEL has become a very determined. This is my deduction and I hope it is correct, because there is considerable potential here. Although the material is not short, as it contains over an hour of music, it is very diverse. Stylistically, we are dealing here with a hybrid of Thrash Metal and classic Heavy. There are a lot of progressive solutions, melodic motifs, old-school flair and of course aggression, because it cannot be missing, but there are also plenty of slower, more atmospheric fragments. You can hear the spirit of MEGADETH, ANNIHILATOR from their first albums, or HEATHEN here, so it's ambitious. Even vocally there is no monotony, because next to the sharper, angry parts there are also clean ones, intertwined depending on the mood of a given motif.
A quite promising and bold debut. Even in terms of its duration, because an hour might be too long for some, but there is so much variety here, that this time passes relatively unnoticed. If my hunches about this band's determination are true, things could get very interesting in the future.
