A quick recap from our latest battle at WARsztat! 🎲🔥

The dice were absolutely trolling us this game. 😂

The T-34 had multiple point-blank shots… and somehow landed ZERO hits. The Canadian Cromwell and bazooka were running the same broken build — hits on paper, zero results in practice. 💀

The fight was tight, the central objective ended in a draw, but the dice were slightly more brutal — 2 dice difference.

And then we have the medic… Did we count him as casualty dice…hmm? Who knows 😂🤔🎲

Koniec lata upłynął pod znakiem imprez plenerowych. Odwiedziliśmy polskie wybrzeże, a Kłanino było jednym z obowiązkowych punktów na naszej trasie.

„Pancerne Lato” to wyjątkowa okazja, żeby zobaczyć, dotknąć, a przede wszystkim usłyszeć pojazdy, które znamy głównie z książek, filmów i modeli. W sobotę, po całonocnych opadach deszczu, załogi dostały dodatkowo naprawdę wymagające warunki.

Polscy rekonstruktorzy na T-34 pędzili przez błoto, obrzucani jego odpryskami. Wyglądało to momentami jak prawdziwa podróż w czasie.

Do tego pokazy grup rekonstrukcyjnych, ryk silników Maybacha Panzer IV i Stuga, Sherman, Greyhound, dwie wersje ciągników Wiesel, ciężarówki, transportery, jeepy… Wszystko było na wyciągnięcie ręki i przede wszystkim — namacalne.

Dla mnie, jako modelarza, była to również świetna lekcja. Obserwowanie, jak błoto zachowuje się na pojazdach, gdzie osiada, jak wygląda na kołach, gąsienicach i dolnych partiach kadłuba, daje znacznie więcej niż niejeden poradnik.

Moje modele będą teraz jeszcze bardziej ubłocone. 😁

The end of summer was all about outdoor events. We visited the Polish coast, and Kłanino was one of the must-see stops on our trip.

“Pancerne Lato” (“Armored Summer”) offered a fantastic chance to see, touch and, most importantly, hear the engines of iconic WWII vehicles. The Tank Hunter team did a great job with this one.

After a night of heavy rain, Saturday’s event unfolded in challenging conditions. Polish reenactors in a T-34 charged through the mud, sending it flying in every direction. At times, it genuinely felt like a journey back in time.

The event also featured excellent reenactment groups and demonstrations: the roar of the Maybach engine in the Panzer IV, the more muffled sound of the same engine in the StuG, plus a Sherman, Greyhound, two versions of the Wiesel, trucks, half-tracks and jeeps. Everything was tangible and alive.

For me as a scale modeller, it was also a valuable lesson. Seeing where real mud collects and how it looks on wheels, tracks and lower hulls offers insights no tutorial can replace.

My models are definitely going to get even muddier now. 😁

🇵🇱 ZALESIE DUŻE – miejsce stworzone z pasji do historii

Podczas naszej ostatniej wyprawy odwiedziliśmy Prywatne Muzeum Techniki Wojskowej w Zalesiu Dużym – miejsce prowadzone przez prawdziwego pasjonata, pana Stanisława.

I zdecydowanie jest to jedna z tych kolekcji, które trzeba zobaczyć na własne oczy. 🪖

Przez lata pan Stanisław zgromadził ogromną ilość elementów historycznego sprzętu wojskowego. Szczególne wrażenie robi kolekcja niemieckich gąsienic w różnych wersjach, pochodzących z wielu typów pojazdów. Dużo miejsca zajmują również elementy wyposażenia zimowego – ich różnorodność i ilość naprawdę robią wrażenie.

Najciekawsze jest jednak to, że za tym wszystkim stoi człowiek, jego pasja i lata pracy. Każdy element kolekcji ma swoją historię, a rozmowa z gospodarzem pozwala spojrzeć na te przedmioty zupełnie inaczej.

Podczas wizyty dowiedziałem się również o ambitnym planie pana Stanisława – chce zrekonstruować własną „suczkę”, czyli radzieckie działo samobieżne SU-76. Trzymam mocno kciuki za realizację tego projektu! 🔥

Jeżeli interesujecie się historią wojskowości, sprzętem z okresu II wojny światowej i militarnymi podróżami po Polsce, zdecydowanie warto mieć to miejsce na swojej mapie.

Takie prywatne kolekcje tworzone z pasji są niezwykle ważną częścią naszej pamięci o historii.

🇬🇧ZALESIE DUŻE – a place built on passion for history

During our recent trip, we visited the Private Museum of Military Technology in Zalesie Duże, run by a true military history enthusiast, Mr. Stanisław.

And this is definitely one of those collections that needs to be seen in person. 🪖

Over the years, Mr. Stanisław has gathered an impressive amount of historical military equipment and components. One of the most striking parts of the collection is the impressive variety of German tank tracks in different versions, originating from a wide range of vehicles. The quantity and variety of winter equipment are equally fascinating.

But what makes this place special is the passion behind it. Every piece is connected to a story, and talking to the owner gives you a completely different perspective on the objects you see.

During our visit, I also learned about Mr. Stanisław’s ambitious plan – he wants to reconstruct his own “Suka”, the Soviet SU-76 self-propelled gun. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for this incredible project! 🔥

Dziś rodzinnie wpadliśmy do Studzianek Pancernych — miejsca znanego z jednej z najważniejszych bitew pancernych na ziemiach polskich, stoczonej w sierpniu 1944 roku, kiedy 1. Brygada Pancerna im. Bohaterów Westerplatte wraz z Armią Czerwoną walczyła z wojskami niemieckimi. Na miejscu odbył się piknik historyczny z okazji 82. rocznicy tego starcia, organizowany przez prywatne Muzeum Historii prowadzone przez pana Pawła.

Zwiedziliśmy, dotknęliśmy historii, wojskowego sprzętu i jeździliśmy motocyklem. Pozdrawiamy wszystkich uczestników, z którymi udało nam się zamienić kilka słów. 😎🇵🇱

Today we visited Studzianki Pancerne with the family — a place known for one of the most important tank battles fought on Polish soil in August 1944, when the 1st Armoured Brigade of the Westerplatte Heroes, together with the Red Army, fought German forces.

There was a great historical picnic organized by Mr. Paweł’s private Museum of History. We explored the museum, got to see and handle some military gear, and even rode a motorcycle.
