Before you rent a car in Denmark, read this 👇

Copenhagen, the Danish coast and nearby Malmö make an easy-looking road trip—but the bridge, ferry rules and return charge level can create unexpected costs.

❌ MISTAKE 1: Treating the drive from Copenhagen to Malmö like a domestic trip.
The cities feel closely connected, but crossing the Øresund Bridge means entering Sweden and requires the cross-border option.
💡 Solution: Add Sweden to your booking before pickup and remember that the bridge toll is a separate travel cost.

❌ MISTAKE 2: Taking the rental car on any ferry you find.
The Denmark branch permits ferry travel only when the destination can also be reached by land or bridge. Ferry-only islands and territories are not permitted.
💡 Solution: Check the complete route with Flex To Go before booking a ferry ticket.

❌ MISTAKE 3: Returning an electric car with a nearly empty battery.
Electric vehicles should be returned with at least 80% charge. A lower level may result in charging costs plus a €50 administration fee.
💡 Solution: Schedule a charging stop before drop-off and leave extra time in case the nearest charger is occupied.
