Being a great manager isn’t just about hitting KPIs. It’s about how you lead people to get there. If your resume only lists hard skills, you're missing half the story.

Recruiters look for these 5 soft skills on management resumes:

1️⃣ Empathetic Leadership: Showing you understand and support your team's needs.

2️⃣ Conflict Resolution: Navigating disagreements without stalling productivity.

3️⃣ Strategic Delegation: Knowing who should handle what to maximize efficiency.

4️⃣ Adaptability: Leading teams smoothly through organizational shifts.

5️⃣ Active Listening: Ensuring your team feels heard, which drives retention.

💡 Tip: Don't just list them. Show the impact. (e.g., "Led a team of 6 using agile methodologies, improving project delivery times by 15%.")

It’s easy to spot toxic behavior from coworkers. But as a manager, spotting a toxic work culture requires looking at things from a bird's-eye view.

If you notice these 5 signs, the environment might be tanking your team’s well-being:

1️⃣ The "Always On" Expectation: Team members responding to emails at 11 PM because they feel they have to.

2️⃣ Fear of Failure: Total silence in meetings because people are afraid to pitch ideas that might miss the mark.

3️⃣ High Turnover, Low Context: People leaving quickly, and the remaining team being left completely in the dark.

4️⃣ Gossip Over Feedback: Problems are discussed in quiet circles rather than addressed through transparent channels.

5️⃣ Constant Fire Drills: Poor planning at the top trickling down into daily, stressful emergencies for your team.

Managers are the shield between corporate pressure and team culture. Recognizing these signs is the first step to fixing them. Have you encountered any of these?

The U.S. workforce is getting older, and it’s happening much faster than it looks on the surface. We aren’t just retiring later; entire industries are approaching a major generational turnover.

Here is what the numbers tell us:

✅ The 65+ Surge: The number of retirement-age workers is skyrocketing. The population of workers aged 65 and older has jumped by more than 40%.
✅ Stretched Timelines: Between rising financial pressures and longer lifespans, more Americans are choosing (or needing) to stay employed later in life.
✅ The Pipeline Problem: The real risk isn't just an aging workforce, but a lack of younger talent entering specific industries to replace veterans as they exit.

Swipe through to see the 15 fastest-aging jobs in the country right now that are facing this critical pipeline gap.

Remember when the ultimate career advice was to hand in your two-week notice the second your income became stagnant?

The data shows those days are officially cooling down. 📉

A new report from MyPerfectResume reveals a massive cultural shift in how we view our careers. The "Great Resignation" hustle has evolved into a quest for stability.

If you’ve been thinking about making the leap, here’s a few things you should know about the job market:

🔹 56% of workers feel switching employers carries a much higher financial risk than it did just a few years ago.
🔹 43% of recent job switchers saw absolutely no financial improvement, or actually ended up worse off because of the change.
🔹 Nearly half of all professionals (49%) believe staying put is the single safest way to maintain their income right now.

With compensation struggling to keep pace with the rising cost of living, moving fast isn’t automatically moving up.

Choosing to stay, protect your energy, and build long-term sustainability isn't "getting stuck." In today's market, it’s a highly calculated career play that works best for some.

Would you switch jobs or stay where you are?

When job search burnout hits, pushing harder usually leads to more discouragement. You don't need to work longer hours; you need a strategic reset.

Taking breaks, separating your worth from your work, choosing intention over volume, and seeking your community are all great ways to give yourself grace. Once you've recharged, you can come back with intention.

A recent report from Monster found that 48% of job seekers apply without reading the full job description. This volume-heavy approach skyrockets your chances of rejection. Save your energy for the roles that actually align with your expertise, and make sure you're tweaking your resume to mirror the job descriptions to those.

The right opportunity will value a refreshed, energized version of you. Give yourself permission to log off.

Staring at your screen wondering how you got here? That feeling is actually a massive, shared reality right now. In fact, a striking 70% of workers questioned their entire career path this past year.

This isn't personal indecision. It is a widespread "career fog" driven by economic uncertainty and stalled growth. But staying on autopilot does not have to be your default.

Here is how to start clearing the fog:

✅ Identify what you need: Is it a momentary reset, better work-life balance, or new upskilling opportunities?

✅ Own your strengths: Grounding yourself in what you do best is exactly how you make mapping your next chapter clear and intentional.

You deserve a personalized professional journey that feels rewarding. What is one small step you can take to start clearing your career fog today?

It’s easy to celebrate the headlines. Women’s median earnings have more than doubled since 2000, and 9.5 million more women have entered the workforce. But percentages can be deceptive.

While the wage ratio improved from 77¢ to 82¢ on the dollar, the actual individual dollar gap grew by 60% based on our latest analysis. Today, the average woman takes home $12,324 less per year than her male counterpart.

This widening deficit is a compound effect. Multiplying a persistent dollar deficit across a much larger workforce causes the macro gap to expand, even if percentages look better on paper.

A generation of progress has created a distinct contradiction: the wage gap is narrower as a percentage, yet wider in actual dollars. Moving forward requires looking past surface-level metrics to address the true depth of the economic gap.

More than 2.5 million job postings did not lead to a hire last month.

An analysis of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data reveals a significant structural imbalance in the labor market. Employers reported 7.6 million openings but made just 5.1 million hires, meaning roughly 33% of posted positions fail to result in an actual hire.

This ghost job economy is heavily concentrated in specific sectors:
-Government: 61.2%
-Education and Health Services: 53.9%
-Financial Activities: 52.3%

To limit job search fatigue, a strategic vetting process is essential before applying. Prioritize listings published within the last 48 hours and avoid postings that have been open for over 30 days. It is also important to ensure the job description is thorough and to cross-reference the listing on the company's website to verify the role is still active.

Navigating an unpredictable job market requires protecting your time and energy. Focusing on verified, active openings ensures your effort goes where it actually counts.
