📍 A FIBRAN vai estar na 14.ª Conferência Passivhaus Portugal, nos dias 20 e 21 de outubro, no Centro de Congressos de Aveiro.

Ao longo de dois dias, a conferência reúne sessões, workshops práticos, exposição técnica e momentos de networking em torno de um tema central: projetar e construir com maior desempenho.

📍 FIBRAN will be attending the 14th Passivhaus Portugal Conference on 20 and 21 October at the Aveiro Congress Centre.

Over the course of two days, the conference will feature sessions, practical workshops, a technical exhibition and networking opportunities, all centred around a key theme: designing and building for higher performance.

For FIBRAN, the Passive House concept begins with the quality of the building envelope: continuous insulation, the reduction of thermal bridges and well-integrated solutions, from the foundations to the roof, including the detailing of openings.

Mais do que definir a espessura, é necessário considerar as cargas permanentes, a resistência à compressão, o comportamento à água, a compatibilidade com a impermeabilização e a continuidade do isolamento nos encontros com paredes, pavimentos e socos.

In areas in contact with the ground, thermal insulation is subject to very specific requirements.

Rather than simply specifying the thickness, it is necessary to consider permanent loads, compressive strength, behaviour when exposed to water, compatibility with waterproofing, and the continuity of the insulation where it meets walls, floors and plinths.

In foundations, any interruption can create a thermal bridge that is difficult to rectify later on. Designing this stage correctly ensures the building’s performance right from the ground up. 👌

O ar condicionado pode ser necessário em muitos edifícios. Mas aumentar o número ou a potência dos equipamentos não deve ser a única resposta ao sobreaquecimento.

A procura de energia para arrefecimento está a crescer e as vagas de calor aceleram a utilização e aquisição destes sistemas. Na Europa, segundo o Eurostat, o consumo energético das famílias para arrefecimento duplicou entre 2018 e 2024.

Por isso, a primeira resposta deve passar por reduzir as necessidades do próprio edifício, através de isolamento adequado, sombreamento, ventilação, controlo solar e um bom detalhe construtivo.

Air conditioning may be necessary in many buildings. However, increasing the number or capacity of air conditioning units should not be the only solution to overheating.

Demand for energy for cooling is growing, and heatwaves are accelerating the use and installation of these systems. In Europe, according to Eurostat, household energy consumption for cooling doubled between 2018 and 2024.

Therefore, the first step should be to reduce the building’s own energy requirements through adequate insulation, shading, ventilation, solar control and good construction detailing.

On 20 and 21 October, Aveiro will host the 14th Passivhaus Portugal Conference, an event dedicated to knowledge-sharing, featuring technical sessions, workshops and over 50 brands on display. On 22 October, the programme continues with guided tours of Passive Houses.

FIBRAN will be present to contribute to a discussion in which the performance of the building envelope, the continuity of insulation and the detailing of openings play a key role.
