This week, we continue our journey together with Ploiești pentru oameni, with the financial support of the Embassy of the Netherlands in Romania.
Two days, two ways to talk about a more bike-friendly Ploiești:
Friday, 18 September
We will meet with students at Colegiul National Nichita Stanescu Ploiesti to talk about sustainable mobility, road safety and the role of cycling in the city. We will also watch the documentary Rotterdam Cycles and discuss what Ploiești can do more for the urban mobility.
Saturday, 19 September🚲
Time to get on our bikes! We meet at 09:00 at Strada Cornățel nr. 2, at the intersection with Strada Sabinelor and ride together to Parcul Municipal Vest.
The ride is part of Sezonul Comunitar Ploiești and is supported by Outhentic Cycling Romania.

Sâmbătă, 19 septembrie, între orele 09:00 și 10:30, te invităm să te alături celor de la Cycle4GlobalGoals Romania - NGO EUphemia, reprezentanților Embassy of the Netherlands in Romania și celor de la Outhentic Cycling Romania, pentru un tur cu bicicleta care străbate orașul de la est la vest: de la Dâmbu până în Parcul Municipal Vest.

Vino să facem mișcare și să contribuim, împreună, la o comunitate mai implicată.

🟢Nu este o competiție, ci o plimbare relaxată, potrivită pentru orice iubitor de pedalat. Adu-ți bicicleta și buna dispoziție.

Turul face parte din inițiativa Cycle4GlobalGoals, lansată în 2023 de Asociația Euphemia printr-un tur cu bicicleta de 3.500 de kilometri, de la Sibiu la Deventer, în Țările de Jos. Anul acesta, proiectul ajunge și la Ploiești, împletindu-se cu tradiția de mobilitate activă a Sezonului Comunitar Ploiești, prezentă încă din prima ediție, din 2025.

📍 Întâlnire: strada Cornățel nr. 2, la intersecția cu strada Sabinelor.
🏁 Finish: Parcul Municipal Vest.
⏱️ Durata traseului: aproximativ 30 de minute.
Turul se va desfășura fără oprirea circulației rutiere.

Regulament participanți:
• Minorii cu vârste între 14–18 ani participă doar însoțiți de un părinte sau cu acord scris;
• Toți participanții semnează un acord de participare pe propria răspundere;
• Biciclete și bicicliști echipați corespunzător.

Astăzi, de Ziua Internațională a ODD-urilor (obiectivele de dezvoltare durabila), se încheie și turul nostru de ciclism inspirațional prin Olanda, desfășurat în timpul Săptămânii de Acțiune ODD. O călătorie fantastică, plină de conexiuni, acțiune și schimbări pozitive! Împreună, am arătat că fiecare pedală înainte este un pas mai aproape de un viitor mai sustenabil.
Iată câteva alegeri simple și sustenabile pe care oricine le poate face:
1. Alege produse locale și de sezon: Cumpărând local, reducem emisiile de CO2 cauzate de transport și sprijinim astfel fermierii și afacerile locale. În plus, produsele de sezon sunt adesea mai proaspete și produse într-un mod mai sustenabil.
2. Redu consumul de energie: Schimbările mici, cm ar fi dușurile mai scurte, utilizarea aparatelor eficiente energetic și scăderea temperaturii cu un grad, pot face o diferență semnificativă în consumul de energie și în impactul asupra mediului pe termen lung.
3. Mai puține deșeuri, mai multă reutilizare: Evită produsele de unică folosință și optează pentru alternative sustenabile. Adu-ți propria sacoșă la cumpărături, folosește sticle de apă reutilizabile și separă deșeurile pentru reciclare.
4. Folosește transportul public, bicicleta sau mergi pe jos mai des: Reducerea utilizării mașinilor, mai ales pentru distanțe scurte, ajută la scăderea emisiilor de gaze cu efect de seră. Alege transportul public, bicicleta sau mersul pe jos ori de câte ori este posibil pentru a minimiza amprenta de carbon.
5. Conservă apa: Obiceiuri simple, cm ar fi oprirea robinetului în timp ce te speli pe dinți, folosirea instalațiilor care economisesc apă și repararea scurgerilor pot reduce semnificativ risipa de apă. De asemenea, poți colecta apa de ploaie pentru grădinărit sau alte utilizări în aer liber.
Un stil de viață sustenabil începe cu fiecare alegere pe care o facem!

Today, on International , our inspiring cycling tour through the Netherlands during also comes to an end. What a wonderful journey filled with connection, action and positive change!
Here are a few simple sustainable choices that anyone can make:
1. Choose local and seasonal products: By buying locally, we reduce the CO2 emissions from transport and support local farmers and businesses. Additionally, seasonal products are often fresher and produced more sustainably.
2. Reduce our energy consumption: Small changes, like shorter showers, using energy-efficient appliances and turning the heating down by a degree, can make a significant difference in the energy use and its impact on the environment over time.
3. Less waste, more reuse: Avoid single-use products and opt for sustainable alternatives. Bring your own bag for groceries, use reusable water bottles and separate your waste for recycling.
4. Use public transport, cycle, or walk more often: Reducing the use of cars, especially for short trips, helps lower greenhouse gas emissions. Opt for public transportation, cycling, or walking whenever possible to minimize your carbon footprint.
5. Conserve water: Simple habits like turning off the tap while brushing your teeth, using water-saving fixtures, and fixing leaks can significantly reduce water waste. Additionally, consider collecting rainwater for gardening or other outdoor uses.

Global Goals for Sustainable Development

🚴‍♂️ arrived in Deventer for , starting with and students from -Lyceum in a fun litter cleanup. They also learned Brazilian rhythms from Meissner, ending in a great group performance—showing how teamwork creates magic! 🎶
On Saturday, we cycled from the Sustainability Center in Deventer to the in Twello, where local ingredients, homegrown produce and eco-friendly practices lead the way. 🌱 We then joined SDG Day in Apeldoorn for an insightful discussion on "Think Global, Act Local" with local councilors. Finally, at Geofort, we participated in an inspiring session with the Ministry of the Future, where we even became ministers of the future! ✨

🚴‍♂️ kicked off on Sept 17th in Leeuwarden with an inspiring meeting with councilor Evert Stellingwerf and key supporters of sustainable development in Friesland! 🌍 Our bikes took us further to ! in , a fantastic example of social inclusion and circular economy. In Groningen, passionate people from House Groningen introduced us to the creativity and energy where young minds flourish through initiatives like , created by students of Rainbow Community Noorderpoort. At House Drenthe in Hoogeveen, we had meaningful conversations with -College students about sustainability in the automotive sector. 🚲 Heading to the next destination—each pedal brings us closer to a more sustainable future!
