Saudi–India Business Partnership: BRICS 2026
The arrival of Saudi Foreign Minister H.H. Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud at the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi, held on 12–13 September 2026, highlights the growing importance of Saudi Arabia–India economic cooperation. BRICS brings together 11 major emerging economies, representing around 40% of global GDP and nearly half of the world’s population. The 2026 summit has focused on strengthening economic cooperation, innovation, startup ecosystems, logistics and global trade, with discussions on a BRICS Startup Innovation Fund, AI cooperation and supply-chain development. For India and Saudi Arabia, this presents an opportunity to deepen business partnerships across energy, infrastructure, technology, logistics, healthcare, manufacturing and investment. Bilateral trade reached USD 41.88 billion in FY 2024–25, comprising Indian exports of USD 11.76 billion and imports from Saudi Arabia of USD 30.12 billion. As both nations advance their strategic partnership, stronger business networks and professional collaboration can unlock new opportunities and contribute to sustainable economic growth. 'A couple of decades ago, during one of my first trips to Shanghai, I noticed a lot of German sedans on the road. Having a German luxury sedan, or SUV nowadays, was and remains a sign of prosperity in China and the rest of the world. But there was something different about the German luxury vehicles in China. Many, if not most, carried an ‘L’ badge alongside the make and model badges.

That ‘L’ stood for long-wheelbase (LWB), a feature Chinese buyers have long preferred because these vehicles often serve as family cars, offering a little more room, particularly for second-row passengers.

One argument against LWB models has been the fact that the additional length takes a toll on the driving experience, so a few days before the X1 LWB was unveiled, BMW India sent one over for me to drive. Which might not seem like much, but it is still surprisingly good fun to drive. The power comes on when you need it, and the additional length does not make the SUV roll about when taking corners hard. '

India Saudi Arabia Strengthening Healthcare Support for
Dr. Srivatsa Krishna, Secretary, Ministry Of Minority Affairs Government of India, met H.E. Dr. Nouf Alnumair Deputy Minister for International Cooperation, Ministry of Health Saudi Arabia, in Riyadh. The meeting focused on comprehensive preparations and coordination for medical and healthcare services for Indian pilgrims during Hajj 2027.
The scale of the opportunity is significant. India’s Hajj quota reached 175,025 pilgrims in 2025, while Saudi Arabia’s healthcare system delivered nearly 200,000 medical services to pilgrims during Hajj 1446, alongside 1.47 million preventive health services at entry points.
Beyond delivery, this growing ecosystem creates opportunities for Indian–Saudi collaboration in digital health, telemedicine, multilingual healthcare support, preventive screening, medical logistics, smart wearables, emergency response, health-tech and public-private partnerships. Saudi Arabia is already expanding virtual consultations, AI-enabled healthcare, smart monitoring and technology-driven pilgrim services under Vision 2030.
