LATEST UPDATE ON THE YENGA/NONGOWA BOAT INCIDENT

We continue to follow developments surrounding the tragic boat incident on the Makona River, around the Yenga/Nongowa border between Sierra Leone and Guinea.

According to information provided by Koindu Medical Healthcare, some passengers have been rescued, while others have sadly lost their lives. Efforts are ongoing to account for all those who were on board and to provide the necessary support and care to survivors and affected families.

This is a deeply painful moment for the families who have lost their loved ones and for the wider community. We extend our heartfelt condolences to all bereaved families and keep the survivors and everyone affected in our thoughts and prayers.

HEARTBREAKING SURVIVOR INTERVIEW

We had the opportunity to interview one of the survivors of the tragic boat incident. During the heartbreaking incident, she survived, but sadly lost her one-year-and-six-month-old baby.

As she shared her experience, the pain and sorrow of losing her young child were deeply touching. Her story reminds us of the devastating impact this tragedy has had on families and communities.

We extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family during this difficult time. May the soul of the little child rest in perfect peace.
