Today in Nakitun: Bringing Healthcare Closer to the Community

Today, our Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) reached the community in Nakitun, bringing essential healthcare and health education closer to families who face barriers to accessing routine services.

📊 Today’s reach:

- 👨‍⚕️ 42 patients received medical consultations and care.
- 💉 15 children were vaccinated.
- 👶 18 lactating children were screened using MUAC for acute malnutrition.
- 🟠 1 child was identified with Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM).
- 🔴 1 child was identified with Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and requires appropriate follow-up and management.
- 🤰 4 ANC follow-up cases were attended to.
- 👩‍🍼 2 expecting mothers and 2 lactating mothers were screened, with one lactating mother identified with MAM.
- ✝️ 91 people were reached with the Gospel, reminding the community that caring for the whole person includes both physical and spiritual wellbeing.

Behind every number is a mother, a child, a family—and a story.

Through the MMU, Community Preventive Medical Care (CPMC) continues to work toward a model of healthcare that combines prevention, early detection, treatment, health education, nutrition, maternal and child health, vaccination, and compassionate community engagement.

We are grateful to our dedicated health team, community health workers, volunteers, and partners who continue to make this work possible.

Healthcare should not wait for people to reach a facility. Sometimes, healthcare must go where the people are.

HEALTHCARE IS ON THE MOVE — NAKITUN

Today, our CPMC Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) was once again in Nakitun Community, bringing healthcare closer to the people.

👩‍⚕️ 65 patients attended
🤰 7 ANC follow-up cases
💉 10 children vaccinated

Behind every number is a person.

A mother who came for her pregnancy follow-up.
A child who received protection through vaccination.
A family that did not have to wait until illness became severe before seeking care.

This is why we take healthcare beyond the walls of a health facility.

We go where the people are.

The CPMC Mobile Medical Unit is not only about treating illness. It is also about prevention, maternal and child health, vaccination, health education, early detection and building a culture of community health ownership.

Every visit is another step toward our vision:

“Healthy People Living in Healthy Communities.”

Together, we can lead communities towards better health.

🩺 SUNDAY REFLECTION

❤️ WHAT DID JESUS SAY ABOUT HEALTH AND LOVE?

When Jesus taught His followers how to love, He did not speak only about words.

He showed love through action.

He touched the sick.
He healed the suffering.
He fed the hungry.
He welcomed the forgotten.
He stopped for people whom others had ignored.

Jesus made compassion practical.

In Matthew 25:35–40, Jesus reminds us that when we care for people who are suffering, we are also serving Him:

“I was sick and you looked after me.”

This is a powerful message for healthcare workers and for every community.

To care for a sick person is more than treating a disease.

It is to see a human being who needs dignity, compassion, attention and hope.

This is why CPMC believes that healthcare should combine prevention, treatment, compassion and love for the community.

A thermometer can measure temperature.
A blood pressure machine can measure pressure.
A laboratory can identify disease.

But love is what makes us care enough to act.

This Sunday, let us remember:

Love your neighbour.
Care for the sick.
Visit the vulnerable.
Feed the hungry.
Comfort those who suffer.
And never underestimate the healing power of compassion.

Because sometimes, the first medicine a suffering person needs is someone who cares.
