Tonga Rugby Union

The time has come. Today, our Tonga National U18 step onto the field against the NZ School Barbarians U18.

This is more than a game. It is an opportunity for these young men to write their own destiny, through their actions, their attitude, and the way they represent the red jersey.

🇹🇴The Get Into Rugby PLUS Tonga Pilot reached another important stage this week, with newly trained coaches beginning programme activities in their schools and communities.

Throughout the week, coaches received their programme kits, conducted parent information sessions and baseline assessments with players, and began delivering GIR PLUS sessions. Coaching observations were also carried out to provide feedback and ongoing support as coaches put their recent training into practice.

These activities follow the GIR PLUS Lifeskills Coach Training held in Tonga in August and mark the start of programme delivery with players.

The Get Into Rugby PLUS Tonga Pilot is led by Oceania Rugby, in partnership with Tonga Rugby Union, with support of the Australian Government through the Team Up programme, UN Women and ChildFund Rugby.

The Tonga Rugby Union would like to wish His Royal Highness Crown Prince Tupouto'a 'Ulukalala a Happy Birthday on this occasion of his 41st Birthday.
