Yesterday marked one year since my first concert at Soda Acústic in Barcelona.

Looking back, I couldn't have imagined what the following year would bring.

Over the past twelve months, I've had the chance to perform at festivals across Spain, including Festa Major de Gràcia—one of my favourite places to be in summer, celebrating Barcelona's beautiful tradition of street festivals—share my music at Leeds Jazz Festival in the UK, and receive an award at Premio Andrea Parodi in Italy.

There have been many moments this year when I felt overwhelmed. Moments when I questioned myself, my music, and whether all the effort was worth it.

But yesterday, I stopped for a moment and looked back.

And for the first time in a long while, I allowed myself to appreciate how far I've come.

Today, I want to put a hand on my own shoulder and say: well done.

Not because I've arrived somewhere.

Not because the uncertainty has disappeared.

But because I kept going.

Thank you to everyone who has listened, supported, invited, encouraged, collaborated, and shared this journey with me. Every message, every conversation, every concert, and every act of kindness has meant more than you know.

Today, my heart is full.

And for a moment, that is enough. ❤️

SOUR CHERRY GHAZALS

I want to announce a new project I’ve been shaping for a long time: Sour Cherry Ghazals.

This world grows from the two truths I carry: the Kurdish heritage I protect, and the Turkish reality I was raised in. I sing in Turkish, the language I lived and learned; I sing in Kurdish, the voice I inherited, the one that was silenced. The acceptance of these two worlds together forms my story of resistance.

For me, the word ghazal is no longer a love poem written by men to women. It becomes a space where I reclaim the gaze and rebuild my voice. I turn the love inside the ghazal toward myself, toward my wounds, my womanhood, my survival.

That is why my ghazals are sour cherry: sweet and sharp, bruised yet resilient.

And through all of this, I say only one thing:

I AM HERE!

Musically, Sour Cherry Ghazals merges ethnic maqam traditions with atmospheric electronic landscapes. I sing in Kurdish and Turkish, blending both worlds through contemporary production.
