Spectrum Academy provides inclusive education for all.
Neurodiverse students are welcomed in our learning environment as we aim to support their unique needs: calm spaces, small classes, individual education plans and trained teachers.
At Spectrum Academy an important part of our curriculum is giving our students a hands on approach to the topics we teach . For STEM this term we delved into the Metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly .
We were thankful to stumble upon an amazing company Mizpah_butterflies who raise and release butterflies from eggs to adult Monarch.
We were able to purchase 25 chrysallis for our students( and excited staff😄) to monitor and observe until they hatched.
In true excitement some of the butterflies decided to hatch one day early which turned our one-day release into a two-day release which just meant DOUBLE the excitement.
Take a peak at some of the fun experienced. Special thanks to Mizpah Butterflies for their experience and willingness to share their knowledge and provide us with all the steps and important conditions required for them to hatch successfully . Special thanks to all of our teachers who ensured our kids had a wonderful release !
We can't wait to do it all again !

The hard work in agriculture class at Spectrum Academy has officially paid off! Students recently presented the final results of their hands-on projects, showing off vibrant, thriving leafy greens cultivated right in the classroom. From careful seed selection and soil preparation to daily watering and monitoring, these young growers demonstrated real dedication, proving that even the most challenging tasks lead to rewarding growth. Seeing their green thumbs in action is a proud moment for all of us, highlighting the power of patience, scientific curiosity, and practical learning.
