After years of not knowing where I fit in, I found rave culture, and more specifically I found happy hardcore. I connected intensly with this music and with the ethos of the underground rave scene. This cheesy happy counter culture appealed to my punk rock sensibilities, finding a comfortable place in my heart and changing my attitude about what it meant to "Be who I was". The philosophy I had found so attractive in punk rock had been reinvented in rave culture and put on overdrive in happy hardcore. The sound didn't care who liked it, it didn't care what people thought of it, all it wanted was a nice soundsystem and some smiling faces. I could make friends and have fun. Long live the underground. ~PLURR~
