I make largescale watercolors with intricate ink linework, ethically forage and process my own clay, I’m watercolor and recycled-media artist, Bailey Constas.

I’m using art to heal myself, the land, and to build safe spaces.

Bordered by hardened lava flows, the rainbow mesa exists somewhere between a dream and El Malpais. An uncharacteristic cloud of fog covers the bottom of a southwestern mountain.

Handmade watercolor paint made from plants and soil on paper, 2026.

Size: 9 in. x 12 in

New art is now on my website!

I have a Lake Pigment and Painting Textiles workshop coming up at June 9!

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to turn plants into a dye pot—then extract the color into shelf-stable pigment you can use to paint textiles!

Lake pigments are a wonderful way to get every molecule of color out of your dye pots, create natural paint (watercolor, oil, pastels, etc.), and a fun way to create lightfast paintings on textiles.

Join me in this workshop in Española hosted by the great Española Valley Fiber Arts Center!

June 9 | 1-5PM | Ages 10+

Great location for my Taos, Santa Fe, and Northern New Mexico folks!

Sign-up in the link in my bio!

🌵Have you seen my tufted bag charms? 🍳

I hand-tuft each one out of cotton, then sew a little piece of leather to connect a sturdy clasp to make your everyday life a little more fun and exciting.

Each charm is a one-of-a-kind original piece of fiber art! Ready to throw on your favorite bag, tote, key set, or whatever!

They also make great little fidget toys 🧸
