Hey all, an awesome Velocity family is going through a cancer diagnosis, surgery, and recovery this week and would deeply appreciate your generosity.

Velocity scored tons of runs over the weekend, but pitching and defense stole the show. Starting pitcher Emily had 10K's, 0 hits, 0 runs, in 3 innings. Reliever Kendall came in and threw 6 pitches, 0 runs, and got 3 outs, all from the outfield, including a brilliant diving catch by Gwynn.

TX Velocity had a wild game last night. Down by 4, up by 5, and ended up tying a team that was, on average. a year older than us. Highlights include a double play (almost a triple play) off a pop fly to center field and back-to-back home runs. The second, by #17, left the yard at dead center and was probably the hardest-hit ball by a 13-year-old I've ever seen.

A new season for TX Velocity is upon us. Our first in 16u/14u, we opened the season with a double header, won both, including against our nemesis team. Firing on all 8 cylinders all night, lights out pitching, 17 hits, 18 rbis, 18 runs, 2 triples, 1 grand slam, everyone hit successfully, and only 3 Ks.

10 days until opening day, counting down to the Bananas and Wildcats.

LET'S GOOOOO!

And that's a wrap on our 12U campaign. Our last tournament didn't end the way we wanted it, but we fought hard to the end. We came out blazing in the pool but our bats could not keep firing in the bracket.

Overall, it was an amazing season, and by far our best of our four in this age bracket. I was very privileged to coach so many amazing kids over the last two years and thankful for all the support from assistant coaches and player families. As Velocity moves into 14U to face bigger challenges and adventures, I will always be amazed at how we started way back when: at full speed and on target.

Today was a long, sweaty day. But after two lights out pitching performances and patience & power at the plate, Velocity is 2-0 through the pool and commands the 2nd seed in the Diamond Bracket tomorrow.
