Photographs which merge art and scienceā„¢ Grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. Met my wife at college when we attended Wittenberg University.

We've lived in Annapolis, Maryland, and Melbourne Australia. We have three grown daughters who share my passions for art, education, and science. I spent over 40 years as a technology entrepreneur - focusing on computer algorithms to help humans better understand the world around us -> finding and then understanding the critical needle in an immense stack of wrong needles. I'm happy to announce that my image entitled "Slave Hut" was selected for the upcoming show at the Workshop 13 Gallery in Ware, MA. The show is called "Presence and Absence." The gallery is a beautifully restored and repurposed church.

This image is a remembrance of the slaves that labored on the island of Bonaire, producing salt from evaporated ocean water. The enslaved people spent their nights in these cramped and ill-ventilated concrete huts. The image is shot from within one of these structures. It is a digital capture that is processed using an Ilford HP5+ film simulation.
