Going to miss our Bandolero, Legends and Late Model buddies at Wake County Speedway tonight 😢 - but we are going to represent the WCS during Petit le Mans at Road Atlanta tomorrow!

Good luck to Isabella Chriscoe racing , Easton Carroll Racing , Will, David Allen Hall and Carson Haislip Racing - we'll be watching and cheering loud enough for you to hear us from here!

Last Friday Night at Wake County Speedway was a doozy and did feel a bit like a Katy Perry song for a few moments.

The day started off strong, even though it was already above 100f by the time we got on the track - 3 sessions of practice and times were looking great. Qualifying was hot, I made P3 with less than 2 tenths off pole sitter Levi Pearson - and track points leader Jack Acton to my right in P4. Outside front row is Maverick Bradshaw - ranked 4th in INEX Bandit points at the time. Pretty good group to be in the middle of.

Opened strong on the first lap, but Jack was able to work past and take P3. Over the next few laps, it settled into hitting my lines and being consistent, while Jack worked on getting around Levi. Maverick Bradshaw was pulling away. During this time I was turning sub 15 second laps consistently, which has been a goal for a while!

Unfortunately, as we were finishing up lap 11, went a little too low across the apron of turns 3 and 4, unsettled the car and looped it. Was able to stop the car without making contact with the wall and there was a couple seconds gap to the group behind me ... which unfortunately came out of turn 4 not expecting the 64w to be parked, pointing the wrong direction.

There was a good solid second or more of time that Brooke Meyer of the #22 car and I knew that it was going to be a bad hit, there was nothing either one of us could do about it but watch it happen up close, face to face ...

That hurt - but all drivers walked away mostly unharmed and Jon had a mild headache that night but nothing really left over the next morning.

We were originally going to just show the footage from lap 11 and trim the race video beforehand, but that would hide the awesome laps and competition that really makes this fun and that seemed like a disservice to the drivers.

We want to say thank you very much to all the track staff at Wake County Speedway - Andrew Tyree , Charlie Hansen and all of the track staff and EMS, you all were there nearly instantly to check on the kids and make sure we were ok. We didn't need the EMS, but we are thankful they could tell us that :)

Thank you to all our track family who were already figuring out how we're going to repair the car and get it ready to run again. Noah Buddy Haislip , Chad Williams , Heather N Tony Rodriquez, my Chriscoe Crew Isabella Chriscoe racing :) and everyone else that was there. At one point mom started to worry that everyone was trying to fix the car right then so we could go back out and finish the race!

We're heading to Road Atlanta for Petit le Mans first weekend of October so we'll miss the penultimate bandolero race - but we'll be back for championship night October 9th!
