It's Friday again, and that means it's time for a fun shirt.

I submitted my new book to a review site (Literary Titan) - They loved it. 5 star review. Raving comments. The whole-nine-yards.
They told me they automatically entered it into their yearly contest and then asked if I wanted them to run a press-release. I thought about it and I know that it's not a guarantee an outlet will pickup the story...but what the heck, right?

So I forked up the fee for the PR. After all, I wasn't paying for the contest, so it's kind-of a wash.
I didn't expect anything, and I know the marketing from a PR isn't fantastical like it was in years past.
No kid in a newsy-flat cap is shouting from the corners in NYC "Extra-Extra, Clifford Dee is in peril yet again! Read all about it!"

It was just going to be.... Meh.

So the day came and the PR went through. I saw it on AP... that was cool... I saw it on other outlets and that was fun.
But then I saw it on my local County Newspaper and I felt giddy. Something about the home-town paper running a story...on me... It just got me. "How Exciting!?" I thought... Then I realized, It's not the story. I read that before it was released. It's who is sharing it that is getting me excited.

I think everyone should read my new book (Obv) but not because I wrote it, But because what this story took out of me.
This was a tough book to write. I needed to get details perfect for this to work. I needed to make people convinced the bad guys were real, the threat was real, and the outcome is deadly. It needed to work.
It looks like the readers feel that way too.

That is why I felt excited about the home-town paper picking up my PR and running with it.
It's the proximity. It feels closer to home, and that matters.
