Something about walnut and maple together....

An old oak tree fell down in the area. Would I miss an opportunity to help out and cut some wood and salvage some this beautiful oak from the burn pile? That’s a big NO! Stayed up late sharpening my chain then loaded up the saw early. Second or third cut I hit a rock, YES A ROCK 🪨 was inside the tree! Ended up sharpening two more times and still didn’t cut like butter 🧈the first couple cuts!

Sliding dovetails for the table base. Was hoping to have the table done by Thanksgiving then by Christmas now it’s looking more like Valentine’s Day, I move goal posts more than Dr. Fauci 😂. Mornings in the shop are the best.

Took a little break from the gram, back for a minute to post some progress on the table. Got the table top glued up and set it on my work bench so we could have a nicer looking table than a plastic folding Costco table for thanksgiving. 🍗😂

Finally getting to work on the kitchen table....

Happy Fathers Day! This world needs fathers even if it’s just to lighten the mood sometimes 😂. and the kids made this awesome leather tool apron for me, and got me some weights so I can lose the dad bod💪🏼
