Leadership development is constant. The best leaders are those that make adjustments along the way to better serve and support their team. Sometimes those lessons expose a leader’s weakness.
So what do you do in this situation? What I did is take the responsibility for all the leaders in the room. Someone observing the situation might think that is the opposite what an alpha leader would do, but that’s not true. The strongest leader in the room doesn’t have a problem with taking accountability for themselves or the team because they can dig through the problem and find where they can improve.
What was the biggest takeaway? It won’t happen again if I’m in the room.
Longevity isn’t a result of taking shortcuts
Strategic thinking and advance planning separates the experts and senior leaders from everyone else. You have to develop this skill to get ahead - period.
