We just wrapped the Birge & Held Asset Management, LLC retreat, and I'm still thinking about all the conversations we had.
There's something powerful about stepping away from the day-to-day and spending real, uninterrupted time with colleagues who genuinely understand the challenges we face in property management. The kind of conversations where you don't have to explain what leasing velocity means or why resident retention keeps you up at night.
What struck me most was how many of us are working on the same problems, like keeping residents engaged, improving communication touchpoints, reducing turnover, but approaching them from different angles. Some of the best ideas came from this event: casual conversations and impromptu brainstorming sessions that never would've happened on a Zoom call.
Huge thanks to the Birge & Held team for creating space for these connections. And to everyone who shared their wins, their struggles, and their creative solutions... you reminded me why I love this industry. We're all trying to build better communities, and we do that best when we learn from each other.
