If you enjoyed the WEDNESDAY and OUTLANDER witch plot, then you will love A TIME OF WITCHES. This historical fantasy ties the life of a descendant to a woman in the past in order to save her from the witch trials. It allows you to see that men really haven’t changed throughout history, and a woman’s rejection can send a man into murderous rage. The story is cleverly plotted between the past and present, allowing it to feel like a cohesive timeline of events. The themes of reclaiming your power are fantastic.

PRETTY RUTHLESS by Lexi Davis (The Order series Prequel) 5⭐
Getting a look into Daddy Carrson’s backstory and rise to power offers some great insight into what he may decide to do to help Carrson in Pretty Savage. I can’t wait to see how that past rivalry with Jackson plays out in the current story. I wasn’t expecting the immense chemistry of these two broken souls. They really do understand each other so well. I wasn’t expecting that ending. This series is so dark and intriguing. I can’t get enough.

PRETTY SAVAGE by Lexi Davis (The Order series book 2) 5⭐
This series continues to get better and better. PRETTY SAVAGE steps up the action and evil chaos on The Order to new levels. Laurel is really stepping into her role as an outsider joining a secret society. I love the way the women are shifting to take more of the focus. We are left on another cliffhanger, but I’m already sat for PRETTY WICKED.

5🎧4.5⭐Thank you to for the ALC. STAR WARS: LEGACY on Audiobook is a full production with sound effects (R2-D2 included), music, and ambient sounds. If they were in the Jedi Temple, it echoes; on the Millennium Falcon, the engine hums. It was absolutely amazing. Especially when only Saskia Maarleveld voiced the whole cast, her portrayal of Leia was my favorite, though. She sounded just like Carrie 🥰.
Now for the story. This was a great bridge between Episodes VIII and IX. You see the Jedi growth Rey goes through and how she deals with the existential knowledge of being the last Jedi and what that means beyond taking down The First Order. It includes more Forcelore and a great look at Leia being Rey’s mentor, something we were robbed of because of Carrie’s passing. There are a few interesting subplots, but nothing shattering. I was really invested in Rey and Leia.

Shhh, the enemies who became lovers are about to be enemies again. THE DARK IN HER VEINS 4⭐️ When everyone is a villain, it makes for good plot twists and backstabbing. The world-building of the cult religious group was dark and created a diabolical storyline. There is a torturous slow-burn romance that unfortunately ends far too quickly. When you spend the whole book yearning for the dark kinks to emerge and you end with a near fade-to-black scene, it’s disappointing. That’s the main reason I started shaving off stars. Other than that, this book is a great dark fantasy with a plot that will grip you.

I called the plot right from the start for IN THE DARK, but the feminine rage and “this princess can save herself” energy made it more enjoyable. Jas is a tenacious character who wants a seat at the table to prove she doesn’t need the problems that men bring with them. I almost tossed my Kindle during one scene, though. The visceral reaction I had to Callahan’s epic screw-up had me fuming, but Jasmina’s reaction made me love her even more. I love interconnected standalones that bring us back to other characters and crossing storylines. They hold up on their own, but are so much better together.
