We watched them grow up. They didn’t get to grow up off camera. That messes with identity!

THEY WERE JUST KIDS.
Raven was 3. Kyla was 12. Hollywood didn't wait.
Let's be for real; we love nostalgia, but we don't talk enough about what it COST.
Fact-check:
Raven-Symoné joined The Cosby Show at 3 years old as Olivia Kendall from 1989-1992. She was 17 when she got her OWN show as Raven Baxter on That's So Raven (2003-2007). That show premiered Jan 17, 2003 and made her the youngest Black woman to have a show named after her.
Kyla Pratt started acting at just 12, then had her breakout as Breanna Barnes on UPN's One on One. One on One ran 2001-2006 and premiered Sept 3, 2001. During that SAME run she was also voicing Penny Proud on The Proud Family.
18-hour days. Scripts to memorize while other kids had homework. No privacy. Your awkward phase on national TV.
Kalandra Long commented on my Raven post and she was right: that much pressure that young has to mess with how you see yourself. That's why that viral Tea Time clip where Raven asked Kalen Allen "Was she Black?" hit so hard. When you've been a character since you were 3, separating YOU from the character is survival.
So question: We watched Bow Wow, Frankie Muniz, Keke Palmer, Raven and Kyla grow up in front of us, who do you think handled fame the BEST, and who do you think Hollywood failed the hardest? Let's talk about it respectfully👇🏾
Full deep dive video coming up next!

NOT Raven looking Calen dead in the face saying “was she Black? Make them green and hear the words - what color are they now?” 😭
She said Eddie was more culturally Black than Raven Baxter was stereotypically Black and Disney Channel girls are in SHAMBLES.
GIRL we watched braids, church, “ya lil nasty”, braids + locs; that’s not green, that’s BLACKITY BLACK.
This is 2014 Oprah “I’m American not African American” deja vu all over again.

from BILLBOARD HISTORY to FIRED ON LIVE TV?? 😭💔✨
Danity Kane debuted their FIRST TWO albums at number 1 , the ONLY girl group in history to do it; and then Diddy fired them on live TV.
my heart was always team D. Woods 🌸👑 best dancer, most underrated vocals, left with her dignity.
Who was YOUR favorite Kane?? 👇
Aubrey, Dawn, Shannon, Aundrea or D. Woods?
Destiny’s Child vs Cheetah Girls , who really had the bigger culture impact? 🤎
DC gave us the blueprint: Say My Name, Survivor, the independent woman era AND Beyoncé.
Cheetah Girls gave us Disney Channel, cheetah print, and songs we still know word for word.
I’m team DC forever. Your turn , who you got? ⬇️

LeToya Luckett: The Forgotten 4th Member of Destiny’s Child
Did you know LeToya Luckett was an ORIGINAL member of Destiny’s Child with Beyoncé and Kelly Rowland?

The 2010 lie that cost Chingy everything.
Do y'all remember this from 2010?
Sidney Starr came forward with photos claiming she and Chingy were involved. The story blew up overnight.
Chingy denied it immediately, but he says he lost his deal, his bookings, everything almost instantly.
Years later, Sidney admitted she made it up.
One headline ended his career at its peak.
Do you remember when this happened? Do you think he ever fully recovered after that?
