Aabaha
Create a platform to showcase art, culture, and heritage of Indian Subcontinent and tell stories and challenges of Indian Subcontinent immigrant communities to mainstream audience of greater Atlanta, create a space to explore various forms of theater, and encourage cultural exchanges between people of diverse communities to become a globally aware community.
Aabaha is a collective of non-equity theater enthusiasts based in Greater Metro Atlanta, driven by a desire to explore the endless possibilities of this unique art form. Not being satisfied with the status quo of traditional theater techniques we are pushing the boundaries of theater to create bold new experiences that connect with audiences on a deeper emotional level. We experiment with the established norms of theater, refine the form and structure of plays to spark new ideas and perspectives. With the rise of electronic gizmos and digital media, we take theaters through new doors that were never thought possible.

“Grace Period Ten Days” at the Ebong TheatriX Theater Festival
Different stage. Different set. Different city. Different audience.
Yet the story remained deeply familiar.
Performing Grace Period Ten Days at the Ebong TheatriX Theater Festival was a memorable experience. What made it especially meaningful was a conversation after the performance. An audience member came up to me, introduced himself as an employee of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and shared that he has encountered many stories like this through his work. He spoke about understanding the uncertainty, emotional strain, and difficulties families can go through in such situations.
Moments like this remind us why we tell stories on stage. Theater may begin with a particular family, place, or circumstance—but when the story is human, it can connect with people from very different walks of life.
A different stage and a different setting—but the human story remains universal.
Thank you, Ebong TheatriX Theater Festival, for giving Grace Period Ten Days another stage and another audience to connect with.

Every performance begins long before the audience enters—with planning, coordination, and the quiet work behind the scenes that helps bring the story to life on stage.
