WATCH YOUR TONE | πŸ”Š
How many of our friends here have run into this situation? 🀚
We've definitely had a few good laughs when someone talks loudly to my husband, Ryan. While he smiles and nods politely, I can tell he doesn't prefer to communicate this way. It's another important reminder in our series of communication tips for this month in honor of month!

Feel free to share your experience with this type of communication in the comments below!πŸ‘‡

KEEP IT SIMPLE πŸ’¬
When communicating with someone with aphasia, it's best to keep your sentences simple and be careful not to "talk down" to the person.

Ryan has experienced this first-hand. While he always responds with kindness, it's important to understand that people with aphasia are still smart people. Their communication preferences are just slightly different.
