He’s Risen
By

We all know what Jesus did
As he walked and spoke to all
He came to us with a mission
Teaching many big and small
Jesus came with nothing more
The the robe upon his back
But he possessed so much more
Love for all he did not lack
He would to teach to everyone
Whether they were rich or very poor
He gave them words of encouragement
Only greed and hate he’d deplore
As folks began to notice
This man would speak aloud
To fishermen whom had caught nothing
To the those who formed a crowd
He gathered those who followed
Bringing Peter from his boat
Not knowing why they were drawn to him
But listened to the words he spoke
Town to town they followed Him
And watched the people come
Most just listened with curiosity
Until he began to cure some
No one had ever heard of Him
None knew he was the son of God
Sent to save the souls of all
On the barren earth they trod
His followers increased as he traveled
Peter,John, Judas and Mathew Just to name a few
Knew they had to follow
Unaware of what could do
They witnessed him cure the blind and heal the sick
As he held them close to him
They witnessed him defy the powers
And continue on without a whim
He scared those who claimed to be in power
And they tried to make him quit
But he was here to do Gods work
With large crowds around he sit
Telling them he was the Messiah
Leaving many with fear and doubt
But when he did things beyond belief
Those’d healed and cured would shout
He is the Messiah, The son of God
With scared those who feared him most
And as the crowds grew larger
To kill him they soon would boast
Even his closest followers denied
How could he really be whom he said
Denying what they had witnessed
Or the thousands with little he fed
The king had him arrested
And his closest ran away in fear
The crucified him upon a cross
Finally killing him with the tip of a spear
Buried in a new tomb and sealed
Three days passed as he lay
Mary wanted to clean him up
As the guards all heard her say
The tomb was found without him
Not knowing what had been done
He’d risen as he had promised
The Messiah, The living Gods only Son
No one can ever doubt the truth
He rose and took all our sins
Without that day where would we be
The day Christianity begins
