The SIAC

The Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference football season moves into Week 5 on Saturday, October 3, with a six-game slate highlighted by a showdown between Kentucky State and Edward Waters, the conference’s two remaining unbeaten teams in SIAC play. Both enter the weekend at 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the conference, putting added significance on their meeting in Jacksonville as the SIAC race begins to take shape.

Beyond the matchup at the top of the standings, Saturday’s schedule features several programs looking to strengthen their position in conference play, build on recent momentum or secure a key victory heading into the heart of October. The weekend also features one of HBCU football’s longstanding traditions as Morehouse and Tuskegee renew their historic rivalry in Montgomery.

With all six games carrying conference implications, Week 5 provides an important early measuring point as the road toward the SIAC Football Championship continues.
