Helping parents and schools prepare teens for life after high school.

05/21/2026

Everybody celebrates the cap and gown moment, but very few people talk about what really happens after...under the excitement.

The pressure
The uncertainty
The shifting expectations
The emotional adjustment for BOTH teens and parents

One minute your child is asking to use the bathroom at school...then suddenly everybody expects them to have their whole life figured out overnight.

A LOT of families are trying to navigate this transition without a roadmap, and honestly, that can feel so overwhelming.

That's one of the reasons I created Beyond The Diploma Post-Grad Guide, because life after graduation deserves just as much preparation as graduation itself.

If you're navigating this season right now, just know you're not alone.đź’›

Parents of rising 9th graders…listen up!!

As someone with my third child about to become a high schooler, this is the best time start researching scholarships.

It gives your teen a head start on understanding the criteria, things like community involvement, specific classes, and GPA requirements, so they can plan extracurricular involvement rather than scrambling to add activities at the last minute.

Just create a simple spreadsheet to keep track of opportunities, deadlines, statuses, and requirements.

You can start searching with these sites:

Scholarships.com and Bold.org

If your teen is awarded a scholarship they’ll hold it until they enroll in college and then pay the funds directly to the school.

Hope this helps, happy searching🎓

May 2026 graduation is less than 2 months away. 🎓

As a life readiness educator, I see the same thing happen every single year...

Teens walk across that stage completely unprepared for what comes next.

Not because they're not smart. Not because their parents didn't try.

But because NO ONE gave them a real roadmap for adult life.

That's the gap Beyond The Diploma was built to fill. đź“–

This guide helps parents and their graduating teens get aligned on what post-grad life actually looks like, no matter what path they're taking:

🎓 College on campus
🏠 College from home
