Have you ever really considered how much detail exists in God's creation?

Not just mountains, oceans, rivers, stars and everything massive enough to leave us in awe—but the tiny things too. Creatures we barely notice. Things that are so small we need a microscope just to see them. And then there's us: the human body, our minds, our senses, every system working together.

We can see all of these things, study them, name them and spend our entire lives trying to understand how they work.

But here's the question I've been thinking about:

Do we need to physically SEE God to acknowledge His goodness, His intentionality and His handiwork?

People say, “The devil is in the details.”

But I say the truth is, the devil isn’t in the details... God is.

🎶 Do you know what today is? It’s our anniversary! 🎶

Today marks 10 YEARS OF MARRIAGE for my husband and me! 💍❤️ 🙌🏾

I often say, “Neither one of us is perfect, but I believe he’s perfect for me.” Ten years later, I still stand by that.

My husband calls himself a “simple man,” but I see so much more: stable, consistent, unique, innovative, a builder, patient and kind. ❤️

As I looked through pictures of our life together, I couldn't help but think: We have a beautiful life.

Is everything picture perfect? No. But am I loved, respected, appreciated and encouraged? YES. Am I walking more fully in my purpose because I have a hardworking husband who supports me and gives me room to fly? Absolutely.

I've been transparent about the ways I've struggled as a wife. There have been moments when I questioned, wrestled with my thoughts and had to take some things before the Lord.

Today, I’m grateful even for that part of our testimony.

I thank God for friends who encouraged me and held me accountable. I thank God for therapy, which helped me process and renew my mind. Most of all, I thank God for sustaining us.

Because there were moments when temporary thoughts and feelings could have led to permanent decisions.

But God renewed my mind.

And here we are…

❤️ 10 years later. Still smiling. Still dancing. Still choosing each other.

If our story encourages anyone, let it be a reminder that the life God has for you is worth fighting for.

NaDario, thank you for choosing to do life with me. It is a blessing to be your wife and the mother of our son. I love you, I'm grateful for you, and Lord willing, I'm looking forward to many more years together.

🎶 Do you know what today is? It’s our anniversary! 🎶

Yes, today marks 10 YEARS OF MARRIAGE for my husband and me! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

We don’t have any major plans (that I know of) to celebrate today because our cruise is right around the corner. But there was absolutely NO WAY I could let this special day pass without acknowledging it.

We chose September 16 as our wedding day because we met on October 16,2014. With my birthday in August and his in October, September just felt right, because it was in the middle.

Little did we know how significant this season of the year would eventually become! Two years later, we had our son in October, and then as you know Thanksgiving and Christmas come right behind that. So it’s safe to say that August through December is pretty much BOOKED one way or another for the .

I often say, “Neither one of us is perfect, but I believe he’s perfect for me.”

And 10 years later, I still stand by that.

I thank God for allowing us to choose each other.

My husband is truly the wind beneath my wings, as they say. He is a self-proclaimed “simple man,” but I see so much more than that.

I recently did a thought exercise about the five people I spend the most time with and am most influenced by. When I thought about my husband, I wrote this about him: Stable. Consistent. Unique. Innovative. A builder. Patient. Kind. Genuinely happy. And yes… a little stubborn. 😂 But that I’ve also watched him grow spiritually and become more flexible in ways that I truly appreciate.

As I look through photos of our life together, I can’t help but think:

We have a beautiful life.

Is everything “picture perfect”? No.

But am I loved? Yes.

Respected? Yes.


Appreciated? Yes.


Encouraged? Yes.

Am I walking in my purpose more and more because of the love and support of this hardworking young man? And YES, I said young because he is two years younger than me. 😂

Yes. The answer is yes.

He is everything I need in a husband and more.

I’ve been open, honest and transparent about the ways I’ve struggled as a wife. Since today is a day of celebration, I’m not going to comb through all of those details again right now. But I will say this:

In some of my lowest moments, I went before the Lord and asked Him, “Lord, Help Me Understand, Why this man?”

And I believe the Lord answered that question in a variety of ways. Which helped me to love, respect, and appreciate him all the more

Thanks be to God for answering my prayers, giving me friends who listened to me, encouraged me, prayed with me and held me accountable. Thank God for therapy sessions provided through our church home and my “job,” Mountain West Church, which gave me a healthy place to process my thoughts and renew my mind. (Which I just “graduated” from, by the way! 😂 My therapist literally told me during our last session that she doesn’t believe I need to continue because I’m in a good mental place. I’m still learning to receive and accept that diagnosis—But I digress… 😂)

Without all of that, I don’t know if we would be celebrating this milestone today.

Not because my husband wasn’t worthy—but because I’m human, and fighting the flesh isn’t easy.

But by the grace of God, I fought.

And here we are…

Why am I telling you all of this?

Because maybe somebody needs the reminder that the life God has for you is worth fighting for.

I fought for marriage as a single woman, and now I’m learning how to continually cultivate the marriage that I'm blessed with.

Ten years is an AMAZING milestone, but I truly believe there is still so much ahead of us.

NaDario Marquez Seays, I know you probably won’t see or read this unless I send it directly to you. 😂 But regardless, I want to say (again):

Thank you for choosing to do life with me.

It is a blessing to be your wife and the mother of our son.

Those are lyrics that came to me during my single days, and apparently I may need to dust that song off and finally put it to use—because those words ring differently when I think about you and the life we're building together.

You are patient.
You are kind.
I see the fruit of the Spirit reflected in the way you love me.

I love you.
I’m grateful for you.
And I look forward to seeing what God has in store for us in the years ahead ( if the Lord's will).

I could go on and on, but I guess I’ll stop here.
