The Rickey Smiley Foundation

Hello everyone,

The Rickey Smiley Foundation, a Nonprofit Organization, was born out of my desire to impact the lives of children and teens through programming that inspires, impacts and motivates young people to live life to their fullest potential, as well as celebrate the lives of our seniors who are the fabric of the community. While I personally wear many hats in my professional career, The Rickey Smiley Foundation is not one of those hats, but instead a mantel that I carry each day, to become a father to the fatherless, hope to the hopeless, and a voice to the voiceless. My Story: When I was 6 years old my father was killed, and although I grew up without my biological father, I had wonderful role models. My grandfather, and uncles became my father-figure and instilled values in me that has made me the man that I am today. I didn’t grow up in a wealthy family, in fact it was just the opposite. However; I had great examples who guided me along the way. The Rickey Smiley Foundation philosophy is simple: Lead by example…don’t just tell them that you love them, show them!
