Silence is not an option.
At a rally in Columbus this month, the Republican nominee for governor told a supporter worried about "cheating" that the National Guard would be watching Georgia's elections. Asked directly whether that was right, he said: "Yes, he's going to get the National Guard."
His campaign now says he never meant troops at polling places. The governor's office says no deployment is planned. Good. Then say it plainly.
This matters even if it was just red meat for a rally crowd. Especially then. Words like these do not stay in the room where they are spoken. They travel to the poll worker deciding whether to show up in November, to the voter deciding whether the line is worth it, to the county official already fielding threats. A candidate who casually invokes soldiers at the ballot box is telling Georgians that voting is something to be policed rather than protected.
Georgia has run clean, audited, recounted elections. Our poll workers have been vindicated again and again. They deserve better than to be used as a prop in someone's loyalty test.
Call Gov. Kemp's office today. The phone number is in the graphic.
Ask for one sentence on the record: the Georgia National Guard will not be deployed to any polling place in this state.
Here is a script:
"My name is [name], and I'm a voter in [county]. I'm calling to ask Gov. Kemp to state publicly that the National Guard will not be sent to Georgia polling places this November. Talk of troops at the ballot box intimidates voters and poll workers. Please put the governor on the record."
Thirty seconds. Then share this post, and ask three people to do the same.

From The Current: "Minutes after drawing praise from President Donald Trump for fending off “some negative stuff” about data centers, Kemp bemoaned what he called the “misinformation” besetting the nationwide debate over them. “It’s so hard fighting through some of the negative press and some of the anti-AI, anti-data center — really, anti-everything — groups that are out there,” he said.
The same day Effingham County and OpenAI officials announced a plan to build a $20 billion data center in Effingham County, Gov. Brian Kemp was a guest of the Trump administration in Washington.
The occasion was a ceremony lauding a pledge by utilities, data center developers, cooperatives, and states not to stick American businesses and households with the bill for the prodigious electricity needs of data centers."
Thoughts?
Gov. Kemp backs Georgia data centers despite worries about AI's risks - The Current Georgia Governor Brian Kemp criticized proposals for a statewide moratorium on data center construction, arguing that such pauses are irresponsible despite expressing concerns over the potential risks of artificial intelligence.

958 Georgia workers lost their jobs today.
SK Battery just cut nearly 1,000 jobs at its North Georgia plant as EV demand slows amid political attacks on clean-energy investments and EV incentives coming out of Washington.
These were the jobs politicians promised when they declared Georgia the EV capital of America.
But when political chaos creates uncertainty, it’s not the politicians who pay the price.
It’s Georgia workers.
SK Battery lays off nearly 1,000 employees at North Georgia plant The move comes as the Trump administration has cut once-robust federal tax incentives for consumers and manufacturers of electric vehicles.

Why do you think Trump is visiting Rome, GA, today? Amidst crashing approval ratings, our hunch is he's hoping to shore up support for his candidate of choice to replace MTG: Clay Fuller.
That endorsement shocked many, especially State Sen. Colton Moore.

Today, Social Circle got stood up by DHS. They had a phone date to discuss how converting a million-square-foot warehouse into a concentration camp, AKA a “detention center”, might affect the tiny town.
At the appointed time, town officials called and called again but got no answer. Turns out “Don’t Tread on Me,” might be a self-fulfilling prophecy.

In a bold move:
Lt. Gov. candidate John F. Kennedy of Macon (R) spent significant money on a poll that confirms that Georgians recognize the name of our former President.
Guess he's deciding whether to run solely under his name or on his positive record of increasing insurance prices for working families.

$128,555,000 of your tax dollars at work. Here’s the sales deed for the Social Circle warehouse purchased by ICE this week.
This means the commercial property will be removed from the city’s tax rolls, a loss of at least $500k per year. Not to mention the stress it will put on the tiny town’s infrastructure by tripling its population with up to 10,000 detainees. State and federal GOP leaders have been AWOL for this heavily Republican community.

How nice of Rep. Mike Collins to call and let city officials know an ICE detention center, that could house up to 10,000 people, is coming to Social Circle by April.
“The City of Social Circle has not been asked for, nor has it provided, any input related to this evaluation or planning process.”
