Atlanta Lightning

Merry Christmas from the crew at Atlanta Lightning. Don't forget - gingerbread houses need lightning protection too.

We had a great time at Fairways of Canton celebrating Christmas and closing out another year. What a year it's been watching this team grow in 2025. Onto 2026!

Atlanta Lightning takes safety very seriously. Even if certifications don't expire, we continue to re-train and re-certify all of our employees so that they can complete projects as safely as possible. This not only keeps us safe but the trades we work alongside everyday. Today, we are retaking a 4hr fall protection training course with our sister company BASE Roofing at their office.

Another LPI / ULPA conference is in the books! We're proud to say we brought home the hardware for a second year in a row. Baylen Smith, one of our project managers, presented his model through roof assembly this year for the Promotional Award and won. Congrats, Baylen!

This week is the 2024 LPI / ULPA Conference for lightning protection in Savannah, GA, one of the Georgia cities that we service. We would like to spotlight the Savannah Convention Center, one of our latest reroof projects just across the river.

Each year, the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), sponsors fire prevention week to remind us of ways to be safe and prevent fires.

This year the focus is on kitchen safety and safe practices with popular KITCHEN items: slow cookers, pressure cookers, air fryers. Check out NFPA’s advice for these appliances and other kitchen safety suggestions at https://www.nfpa.org/Events/Events/Fire-Prevention-Week/-/media/D258A8E1277B49E19CA8ACAFA2357CA0.ashx

We at the LPI also want to remind you, that LIGHTNING CAN CAUSE FIRES AND SURGES in your home that can also damage these treasured appliances.

Make sure to assess your risk to lightning outside and inside your home. Take caution during a storm - unplug devices or install a surge protection device onto your main circuit breaker. **The power strips with surge protection do not protect against lightning surges.
