🍕⭐ A Slice of Success for Our Top Readers! ⭐🍕

A huge Wildcat thank you to Ms. Kita Wilson, General Manager of Domino's Pizza Villa Rica, and our very own Mrs. George for their generous donation to Villa Rica Elementary! 🍕❤️

Certificates will be distributed the week of October 5th, so keep reading and reaching for those goals, Wildcats!

🌴🔤 Chicka Chicka Boom Boom STEM Day in Kindergarten! 🔤🌴

Friday we brought Chicka Chicka Boom Boom to life with a fun, hands-on STEM activity! We have been learning how to identify the characters, setting, and main event in a story, and today our kinders got to put that learning into action! 💜

Each group member had an important job:

🌴 Our Setting Coordinator was responsible for building the setting of the story—the coconut tree!

🔤 Our Character Coordinator made sure all 26 characters (letters) were accounted for and ready to go on the coconut tree.

💥 Our Main Event Coordinator recreated the major event from the story by stacking the letters on the coconut tree and watching what happened when they all came tumbling down—Chicka Chicka BOOM BOOM!

This activity was such a fun way to reinforce our reading standards while also encouraging teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, and communication. They had to think about the story, work together, and use what they learned to build and recreate it!

It was a GREAT day of learning in Kindergarten! 🌴💥🔤💜
