Today, we pause to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the courage of those who responded, served, and helped communities heal.

As designers, we’re reminded that the places we create can hold memories, tell stories, and give people space to reflect, remember, and come together.

The National September 11 Memorial demonstrates how design can create meaning in a place of profound loss, giving form to remembrance while creating space for reflection and honoring those who were lost.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Happy National Senior Citizens Day! Today we honor the wisdom, resilience, and invaluable contributions of seniors everywhere. At THW Design, we are proud to design communities that support wellbeing, encourage connection, and enhance quality of life for seniors. Here's to celebrating the people who have helped shape our world and continue to inspire future generations.

We recently had the pleasure of celebrating the grand opening of the expanded cottage home neighborhood at Covenant Living of the Great Lakes!

The expansion adds 36 new cottage homes across 18 duplex buildings, creating even more opportunities for vibrant, connected senior living.

Great design is about more than what you see—it's also about how a space feels and performs. We're grateful to Soelberg Industries for featuring our work at Covenant Living of Northbrook and highlighting how thoughtful material selection can enhance both aesthetics and occupant experience.

Yesterday, we paid tribute to one of civilization's great achievements: the humble hot dog. A tube of mystery, nostalgia and simple pleasure that somehow tastes even better when surrounded by good people.

No rules. No judgment. Just a potluck spread of toppings stacked high. Pasta Salad, Broccoli Salad and Slaw on the side. And enough desserts to make restraint feel like a wasted opportunity.

Because the best meals aren't about perfection. They're about gathering around a table, telling stories, trying somebody else's "secret" topping combination, and remembering that food has always been the easiest excuse to be together.

Well done, everyone. Long live Hot Dog Day.
