GloATL
GLO WAS FOUNDED BY CHOREOGRAPHER LAURI STALLINGS AND PRODUCTION SPECIALIST RICHARD CARVLIN IN 2009.
glo is an artist-led platform founded by choreographer lauri stallings that uses choreography as a tool box to bring people together, and make the world better. LED BY OUR FOUNDERS, STAFF, COLLABORATORS, FULL-TIME DANCERS, ADVISORS AND VOLUNTEER GUILD CONTRIBUTE DEEPLY TO EVERY ASPECT OF THE PLATFORM. WE ARE GRATEFUL FOR THIS CONSTELLATION OF SUPPORT.WE ARE COMMITTED TO COLLABORATION, CREATIVE PROCESS AND LISTENING TO PEOPLE IN EVERYTHING WE DO, FROM OUR PERFORMANCE EXPERIMENTS, SCHOOLHOUSE, COMMUNITY DINNERS, TO MIGRATING.WE FELT IT WAS NECESSARY TO LAUNCH GLO TO HELP REVITALIZE IDENTITY IN THE AMERICAN SOUTH. WE HAVE DONE THIS BY UNDERSCORING HUMAN INTERACTION IN CONTEMPORARY PERFORMANCE AND ARTS IMPULSES TO WORK OUTSIDE RECOGNIZABLE SPACES. DEPLOYING PLACE AS A SOCIAL PRODUCT AND COMPLEX CONSTRUCTION OF VALUE AND MEANING, WE ARE A YEAR-ROUND PUBLIC INITIATIVE.OUR WORK CREATES OPPORTUNITIES FOR SHIFTS IN AWARENESS AND HUMAN INTERACTIONS THAT SLOW DOWN LIFE. WE ARE OBSESSED WITH CHOREOGRAPHY’S UNCANNY ABILITY TO IDENTIFY THE MOVEMENT AND FLUIDITY OF A CITY. GLO BENDS GENRES WITH A POOL OF CONDUCTORS, FILMMAKERS, RAPPERS, FASHION AND VISUAL ARTISTS. FOR THIS, GLO HAS WON RECOGNITION AMONG THOSE WHO HAVE LITTLE ACCESS TO THE ARTS AND THOSE WHO HAVE A GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE.

ATLANTA: please join us this Sunday at 6:30 PM as vocalist Moni Que choreographer lauri stallings and musician Kebbi Williams spatially and sonically activate Atlanta Beltline beginning at Atlanta Beltline Market across 90 minutes of live art. The artists will be joined by an ensemble of community vocalists and dancers for a people processional work that explores the poetics of intimacy, social touch, and the weight of shared physical spaces.
Beltline and glo Platform will have a water station along the 90 - minute procession, beginning and ending at Atlanta Beltline Market . There are no tickets required as the public art work is free and public to all. We are listening to our advisors, and the distant rain sounds. We hope to gather Sunday, and have a rain date on hold, friends.
Making Kin explores American artist Lonnie Holley’s album, “keeping a record of it,” as a site to extend from the past to create a portal to new perspectives, community, and what’s left behind. We are artists dedicated to experimentation and engaged with sculptural performance and the live moment from the perspective of belonging. What do you choose to carry that carries you? is a question we aim to explore. The rhythmic language of Making Kin is a complex of microtonal scales and harmonies, Atlanta Improvisers Orchestra experiments with vernacular, tuning in. At the same time, the work will involve handmade instruments called Abraka flutes created by Williams, and choreographies of diverse slow- footed relational ways by stallings – movement choirs, flocking patterns reminiscent of Georgia red-winged black birds.
We are grateful to Atlanta Beltline for the commission of this work. Making Kin is made possible with support of a LAB Residency, High Museum of Art. Making Kin is made possible with support of Winston Taylor and Beloved Community Inc, and Dorian McDuffie, Office of Design, City of Atlanta. This project is made possible with residency support Goat Farm
See you soon everybody 💫

A new project being born | Dances for the Dordogne made in rural France in September 2026 | A community’s gravity | An emotional movement of moving artists | poem-songs with a spiritualist | scraps of Georgia garments and marsh clay | lig-ght on ancient stone.
It is truly hard to explain the amount of joy i receive from these spaces becoming a living entity through choreographic structures and radical communal practice. 5 sites in ancient Dordogne. Last week Mayrinhac - Lentour France brought the fire. When we come together in these imaginative worlds, “dancing is what we make of falling,” says Fred Moten. Such are the mediums in which Gods are praised! Thank you to my ancestors, my momma and daddy, Harry, for your genius. Thank you glo for providing so much, for getting 3 moving artists together across the pond for deep work. Thank you to the community of Sandrine, Isabelle, Alberte, Sonia and Marais. Thank you Fabienne for a tree house to rest my mind. Thank you to glo’s most excellent interpreter & Project manager, Tom. Marc and Sylvie Calès, my deepest gratitude for the trust and care to engage in the ruins of Château de Taillefer with live ness! Thank you Janeau, my favorite local artist, for welcoming me into your studio before i left.

Dances for the Dordogne is a multi-layered project supported by Association Patrimoine et Culture de Mayrinhac Lentour and Marais de Bonnefont Marsh Reserve in collaboration with Château de Taillefer Preservation Association that weaves a robust dialogue with sites across the ancient Dordogne Valley, France. The work follows insights of the 12th - century French troubadour Bernart de Ventadour and Ventadour’s profound influence over American poet W.S. Merwin on the central importance of themes of distance: the distance between the present and the past, the lover and the beloved, and one place and another. Themes of distance can also be felt in lauri stallings’ choreographic work, where distance is a metaphor for a lost past, environmental degradation, and the challenge of connecting across time and space through our bodies. Dances for the Dordogne brings together living installation and live art, and draws on poets, conservatoires, and moving artists with historical ties and new to glo, including Mary Jane Pennington, Ashley Ianna Daye, performer Léonor Clary, Chassang, and elders of Foyer Marthe Robin.
