The OFFICIAL page of Chestatee ES, located in Gainesville, GA! Mr. S. M. Rosser was the first principal of the school.
Chestatee Elementary is named after the former Chestatee School, which opened in 1931 on five acres in north Forsyth County. The original Chestatee School was built with funds from both the Board of Education and the Chestatee community. In 1939, Crossroads, Hopewell and Pleasant Grove schools consolidated with Chestatee. The school received a gymnasium and cafeteria soon after that. In 1967, the Chestatee High School was consolidated into the Forsyth County High School, now Forsyth Central High School. The school received numerous renovations in 1973, including classrooms, a library, office, and a modern cafeteria. Since that time, the school has had five renovations and improvements. Originally located near the Chestatee River, which is now a part of Lake Lanier, Chestatee is Indian for “fire hunters.”

Thank you to our friends at Cu***ng First United Methodist Church for helping stock our Blessings in a Backpack program. We appreciate and rely on partners like them to help make sure students have meals on the weekends. ❤️

We had a packed house for Curriculum Night/ APTT for PK, Kindergarten, 1st and 5th grades! Thanks to our families for coming out! Our teachers were excited to present the grade level information, offer childcare, and partner for student success! ❤️

Thank you to our Chestatee Elementary PTO for hosting a great Room Parent breakfast this morning. What a nice way to network and learn ways to support teachers and the school.

Tonight is Curriculum/ APTT for PreK, Kindergarten, First Grade, and Fifth Grade-
The meeting will begin at 6:00 in your child's classroom. Doors open at 5:30!
Childcare is available! Sign your child in at the location you choose please.
Gym- Dojo
Cafeteria- Fun activities
Media Center- 3-5 year olds
Room 144 (close to the cafeteria) Babies 0-2 years old
5th graders serving as Game Changers can check in at the table in front of the media center.
Frozen Frenzee will be available for purchase as you leave.

Tomorrow night is Round 1 of Curriculum Night and APTT with PK, Kindergarten, 1st and 5th grade classes meeting at 6:00. Bring the kids for our childcare and purchase a treat as you head out from Frozen Frenzee! 💙

Our first Local School Council meeting kicked off this morning. We appreciate these members for being the parent and community voice for tge school. Thanks to Dr. Michele Dugan and Mrs. Meg Begnaud for presenting to us about ParentSquare. ❤️

Happy Labor Day from all of us at FCS🎉 Today, we celebrate the hard work and dedication of teachers, staff, and students who make our schools great. We look forward to seeing everyone back in our buildings tomorrow morning!
