Instead of our usual Native Land Pod Minipod, we are going LIVE today and talking through the most recent updates on the Nolan Wells Case.
Tune into Native Land Pod LIVE at noon ET.
Judge Judy says people who want to change this country should go somewhere else. Angela reminds her that Indigenous people were here first, Black people built it, and the people America has never properly seen, heard or respected have every right to demand better.
Watch the full conversation in Native Land Pod Episode 150.
In Episode 150, Angela and Bakari discuss the grand jury’s decision not to bring charges in Nolan Wells’ death, his family’s continued demand for answers, and why Shaq’s new FBI affiliation deserves more than a laugh.
The hosts get into so much more and we have a special guest who joins the show!

Before the Ballots Land, we want to know what YOU want answered!
As we head toward the 2026 midterms, there may be political issues, policies, election processes, or headlines you’ve seen and thought, “Can somebody just explain this plainly?”
That’s what we want to hear.
Native Land Pod is asking real people what they want to better understand before they vote. No question is too basic, and you can submit anonymously.
Take the short survey and tell us what you want broken down before Election Day.

Is Gavin Newsom stepping aside or setting the table?
Governor Gavin Newsom says he will not run for president in 2028 if Kamala Harris enters the race, arguing that competing against each other would lead to “mutual assured destruction.”
Bakari breaks down what Newsom’s statement could mean for the 2028 field and why bowing out may actually be part of a much longer political strategy.
What do y’all think: genuine loyalty or political chess?

A well-deserved honor for our very own Bakari Sellers! ❤️
Our brother and co-host, Bakari Sellers, has been named a 2026 honoree for the 35th National Civil Rights Museum Freedom Award.
Week after week, we get a front-row seat to Bakari’s brilliance, passion, and commitment to our people. But beyond what y’all see and hear on the show, we know the heart behind the work.
Bakari, we love you. We are incredibly proud of you, and even more grateful that we get to call you our brother, our friend, and our co-host.
Your entire Native Land Pod family is celebrating you BIG today. Congratulations, B! 💐
Garrison Hayes asks the question, and Congressional Black Caucus Chair Yvette D. Clarke answers: because memory is power.
The CBC was created to ensure Black communities had a collective voice in Congress and to advance legislation addressing equal rights, opportunity, and access. More than five decades later, that representation and organized political power still matter.
Congresswoman Clarke says institutions like the CBC preserve our history, remind us where we come from and to whom we belong, and carry a legacy of Black excellence forward.

Election Day is not the finish line.
In conversation with Congressman Bennie Thompson, SEIU President April Verrett says the focus cannot stop on November 3. It must include the weeks that follow and ensuring every ballot is counted.
"When we win, we will be asking for the moon and the stars.”

A felony conviction does NOT automatically mean you can never vote again.
Angela Rye recalls Snoop Dogg believing he was ineligible to vote. But in California, people with prior felony convictions can register and vote if they are not currently serving a state or federal prison term. That includes people on parole or probation.
Voting eligibility varies by state, so don’t count yourself out based on what you’ve heard. Check your state’s rules, confirm your registration status, and know your rights.
