It is a medium for individuals determined to RYSE to the top, because they understand that the bottom is simply too crowded. A platform that showcases the numerous outliers that are excelling within their communities whose talents and contributions are often overlooked. Individuals whose achievements serve as an example to inspire us to want more, do more, and be more. A destination for empowering images that reflects the various layers of our culture, speaking to the unique needs, wants, desires, and concerns of our audience.

Journey to RYSE returns, and for this session, we’re sitting down with Tamika Miller—an award-winning film and television director whose latest project, UNDERCARD, is making serious waves.
Starring Wanda Sykes in her first dramatic role, UNDERCARD premiered to critical acclaim—taking home the Audience Award at the Newport Beach Film Festival and Best Independent Film at the St. Louis International Film Festival—before its nationwide release.
And that’s just the beginning.
Tamika’s directing credits span both film and major network television, including Quantum Leap (NBC), The Equalizer (CBS), and Station 19 (ABC/Shondaland).
