Michael, born Michael Theo Johnson, is a multi-talented artist, dancer, actor, songwriter, and producer; who is hitting the music scene heavily, and showing no signs of slowing down as the reggae charts await him. As the son of Legendary reggae singer Mikey Spice, Michael is no stranger to music. The young multi-faceted artist got a head start and began his singing career at the tender age of 8. G
rowing up in Atlanta, Michael met people and opportunities to nurture his innate passion for the arts. The young musical prodigy’s creativity and passion for music knew no limits, as he became a celebrated mainstay in local plays and talent shows, known for his silky smooth vocals and killer dance moves reminiscent of his muse, the iconic late great Michael Jackson. In 2014, Michael received the Hot New Artist Award at the Clean Music Movement Awards in Atlanta, where he wowed the audience with his sensational performance, and local promoters booked him daily. He soon opened for reggae-heavy hitters like Beres Hammond, Wayne Wonder, and more. First comes recognition, then comes fame, and that was when a true Star was born. As a rising Reggae artist, Michael still appreciates soulful and meaningful music, and he takes pride in paying homage to the greats like Micheal Jackson, Bobby Brown, and Chris Brown. "Their music is inspiring and timeless," Michael says. "Music is an art expressed in many ways.” And Michael is demonstrating that as he continues to work on his upcoming projects daily. Aside from singing and performing, Star is working on engineering a few projects, writing short films, and preparing to show the world who he truly is. In 2020, he gave the world a glimpse with his uptempo single, 'Feel Me.’ This selection showed off his vocals and revealed a warm, and soulful voice. On March 22, 2022, Star will bring versatility to the table with his second single, ‘Tun Up,’ which is guaranteed to bring the dancehall vibes intermixed with fun energy along with Star’s unique vocals. Michael Star is working on his EP set to release in early 2022. He is giving it his all, with an honest and introspective project that addresses every facet of life–from trials and tribulations to love and happiness.
