CFVC’s Transitional Housing team is seeking a dedicated Full-Time Outreach and Housing Advocate! This role is vital in supporting survivors of intimate partner violence on their journey toward healing and independence by providing trauma-informed case management and advocacy services to families enrolled in our Transitional Housing Program.

Self-reflection is an integral tool in the journey of trauma recovery.

As part of CFVC’s ongoing mission of standing with survivors of intimate partner violence throughout their individual healing journeys, we offer many opportunities for survivors to engage in self-reflection - such as reflective journaling workshops - to assist survivors with recognizing their emotional triggers, building self-compassion and self-worth, and envisioning the life they want to build for themselves 💜

The Cherokee County Domestic Violence Task Force will be host our monthly task force meeting this Friday, June 19th from 12:30-1:30 on the 3rd floor of the Historic Courthouse!

We hope you’ll join us to collaborate with local victim service providers, prosecutors, law enforcement officers, and dedicated community members on how we can best serve victims of family violence in our community 💜

In anticipation of elevated temperatures, the MUST Hope House Cooling Center will be open Thursday, June 11, and Friday, June 12, from noon to 6:30 p.m. Guests will have access to a safe, air-conditioned space as well as lunch and dinner.

Please help us reach those who may need a place to cool down and stay safe.

CFVC was honored to join Encompass Ministries at the FlavorFest celebration this past Saturday to share information about the services we provide for survivors of intimate partner violence!

Encompass Ministries is a local community organization providing food assistance, employment planning services, and life skills training to those in need in our community.

We are thankful for the invitation to participate in FlavorFest and for the continued support that Sabrina and her team at Encompass Ministries provide to survivors in our community 💜

Thank you to the team from Sequoyah Regional Library for joining CFVC to help children enrolled in our Transitional Housing Program as they say goodbye to school and hello to summer with some fun filled activities ☀️

We are also thankful for the donation of Prime Time Boxes to help our young scholars continue their love for reading and learning throughout the summer 📚💜

At the Cherokee Family Violence Center, we strongly believe that there is strength in community. Our dedicated Advocates offer weekly workshops and support groups that help survivors of intimate partner violence find the support and community they need to navigate their individual journeys!

Thank you to the students in the Teach One to Lead One program at North Cobb High School for recently donating handmade blankets to CFVC as part of their semester service project.

Year after year, these handmade blankets have brought comfort to survivors in our Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing programs. We are so incredibly thankful to the Teach One to Lead One students at North Cobb High School for continuing to think of CFVC for their service projects 💜
